But as a result, I don't see Mass Effect 3 as a story-driven singleplayer game anymore. I now see it as a really shoddily done multiplayer game that somehow is really addicting (I'm blaming the random unlock buying system). I'm certain if I wasn't such a completionist I would've gotten bored after max 2 or 3 months of playing.

But if it wasn't for the MP-part I wouldn't still be here and moved on to another game.
I enjoyed and frowned about the story, but the MP has shown me how cool the combat gameplay really is.

that better change in the next one!! It was even somewhat linear.. they know that the people that really love these games are going to play most of the classes, it just needs to be worthy of our attention spans.

Me3 just didnt feel different in multiple playthroughs like me2 did, some reasons obvious and some not..

This. Did my first playthrough as an adept when 200% cooldown was all the hype. Managed a second one as a vanguard. Then tried to do one as an infiltrator and i found myself wanting to skip all the cutscenes and the dialog because it felt like the same sh*t all over again, and got very boring, very fast.

I'm probably only halfway through sp, but so far it just doesn't have the same feeling that 1 and 2 had. There's definitely some improvements and things I liked, but overall it seems to be the worst of the series.

Hm, I think I prefer not sleeping. Runner up is MP though.

MP is keeping me pretty well from ever touching SP.
So yes.
I love MP, and have logged more hours in that than SP for sure. So bear that in mind when I say:
If you are content playing horde mode over and over again, I'm not really sure whether your opinion on a story driven RPG is relevent.
I like both. MP was a surprise success and has give ME3 massive replayability. I still think the SP experience was excellent.

By the way, I could imagine the addition to MP where you could spend some money you honestly earned in battle. Like the Afterlife (with the dancers and all the stuff) and shops for guns and consumables...

On the other hand i have 500+ hours in MP which i regret i so blatantly ignored from march to august(so many missed out promo weapons, or nerfs butthurts).
Would still buy ME3 only for the SP experience though. It's a more than enjoyable space opera. And i love space operas.

Everyones opinion is always relevant if they played the game through.
I did. I experienced the whole trilogy for the story.
The combat in ME3 hooked me and I was disappointed in what the SP side can provide in terms of difficulty.
MP fixed this.
The only reason why I haven't played the SP side more is pretty much because I lost most of my ME2 saves and haven't bothered going back to 1 or 2 because the combat isn't as hooking as 3.
Story driven or not, ME3 has a huge emphasis on combat.
Plus many people thought that the story wasn't even that good because of the pay off.

After I watched the ending, MP became better.
Seriously the ending was unfulfilling enough that I felt the only way to get my money's worth was to play MP.

Yep. Just from the amount of fun I've had, SP simply does not measure up to MP.
Never thought I'd play a MP game, never thought I'd buy a headset, never thought I'd be into a MP experience. Now it's my favorite thing. I even think that hour wise I've now put more time into MP than I did in SP, even considering 7 play throughs total.

the SP really pulled a U-turn in ME3. Great SP in both ME1 and ME2, both gameplay, difficulty and roleplaying. ME3 was worse in all three categories, not to mention the ending.
MP really saved the game from being a complete fiasco.
