The "old favorite" based on the campaign. For example, if your character was to travel with Leliana at the end of the main game, she should be the companion.

I only have two things in mind.

1. Not a big fan of new tiers but I do want to see new weapon type/skill, such as lance or spear

2. Continuation of the romance, mostly Alistair and Morrigan.

How about shorter arms for the Dwarves? They reminded me of chimps the whole game thru.

Posted this in another thread:
Anyways hopefully they will give you an option to choose your companion from the original story line, you can do a separate quest to "recruit" the chosen one then start the new campaign. Wishful thinking on my part.
Ability to dye armor/clothing.
Ability to upgrade your weapons without buying new ones, say go to a blacksmith and have him
upgrade it for a cost.
Please include a chest in the main camp.

I would love to see a solid game with a great story behind it, that will give me hours and hours of fun. But a short list of things I would love to see would be...

-new weapons and armor
-new spells
-revamped specializations
-a new origion story (human commoner!?)

Of course, I'm sure things are already set in stone content wise, but hopefully it's a solid game. With the 40 dollar price tag, it needs to be a hit...otherwise, consumers are going to be a lot more careful about buying expacs and DLC in the future.

An actual decent villain. The architect seems to be cool so far.

An option to kill Morrigan.

The talking Darkspawn's armor...

I hate it when your enemies look far more deadly than you especially when you end up killing them

If I didn't already know the setting was Amarinthine I would say I want to explore the rest of Thedas - or at least one other nation.

Also different storylines depending on what you did in the main story.

None of the new characters should be elves. Dwarves would be acceptable.

The more I think about it, the old character would have to be someone you chose based on your own decisions....
What if you killed Shale at the Anvil?
What if you never recruited Dog?
What if Leliana never joined you/ you killed her at the Urn?
What if you killed Wynne at the tower?
What if you killed Zevran when he attacked you?
What if you executed Alistair/Loghain?
What if you never got Sten or killed him in Haven?
That leaves Oghren and Morrigan, and I'm unaware of any way that Oghren dies in your presence, and if you dismiss him he still invites you for a drink after it's all over so you still may be on good enough terms for the expansion. Morrigan may come back when she leaves you, but you either parted on poor terms or she's pregnant so her motivations to fight beside you seem poor but she could likely appear as an NPC. Sorry bout the length of this rant lol.

Wow...not even a spoiler warning...

If you haven't finished DA yet, why do you care about an expansion thats set after DA?

Excellent question I was wondering why he is in here as well. Especially since the trailer for the expansion has MASSIVE end game spoilers.

That is a good point and why I didn't even think when I basically spoiled the whole game lol but to be fair this whole thread is in the non-spoilers section.  I just hope I don't ruin the game for a lot of people.....

THIS

I expect some little reward for the amount of time I spent on completing DA Origins. And having a say on who I travel with in the expansion is a must.

I want to be able to jump, every game I played had space as key to jump, so sometimes I press that button just because I'm used to jumping around! It's also nice to jump over little hedges, books etc, it makes rooms with many items in it a little bit easier to pass. Something I also like to see is less invisible walls. Even the smallest waves in the terrain are blocked by an invisible wall and you've to walk around because you just can't go down there. I also like exploring and when I'm in an outdoor zone and I walk a few steps from the road, there's already a blockade, so I'd like to see a little bit more environment around the actual quest objectives.

I wish it had let you only able to take your romance option like one old character to use in awakening.
