Once upon a time I was a fan of WWE and my favorite wrestler was Evan "Airbourne" Bourne.
I don't like WWE anymore. But this is what I shall be called until the end of time.
Also, random numbers.

I grow tropical plants as a hobby and one year I grew over 100 Hosta plants from seed. My wife called me Hosta-man and the name stuck.
I'm so rock and roll

Mines easy, Snake is from Metal Gear Solid, best stealth games in history, and Flaming is because I like to burn things...
So, Flaming Snake.

That anime series is named : "Waga seishun no Arcadia - Mugen kidô SSX", dubbed as "Albator 84" in my country. "Albator" being the name of the hero of this series, known overseas as "Captain Harlock", captain of a spaceship named "Arcadia".
Since i'm one to complexify a simple thing, i made a nickname referencing him somehow: Arcadia Captain SSX => ArcaptSSX.
My BSN name is because i don't like being forced to create accounts all over the internet, so i create names such as "John-René", "Bob-Henry", "Paul-Ricky", stuff like that... and that american practice to create a sort of dynasty by giving the same first name to your son always induces mockery from me, hence "the third".
So now i'm stuck with that stupid name which i supposed would never serve me to communicate.
@OP: i had been wondering, being a fan of Path of Radiance+Radiant Dawn myself !

GT is the same as my username. The straw hat part is from One Piece and the moose part is from a really weird story which started with a story about a spec ops moose and ended with me being nick named moose.
I Love One Piece, if my name GT wasn't what it is (same as BSN Username) then it would probably be "Red_Haired_Shanks" or "Arlong_Park"....very cool!
On my own....just something that tickled me about 8 years ago as I sit with my twin newborns in my arms...long day at work....beat as anything....turned on MNF for some dumb time....San Diego Chargers playing some other team....they are going through the lineups where everyone says thier name and alma mater.....and Marcellus Wiley, a DE for San Diego gets up there and simply states "Dat Dude".....and just lets it resonate.....very oddly, it was profound to me....so I blagged it...the 1970 is my birth year, so y'all know how old I am within a year.

Because it is the only way to be sure.
Grim is a nickname I aqquired many, many moons ago. As it was decided by my friends that it gave a concice description of who I am.
I also happen to be a very proficcient killer (in games
GriM_AoD = GriM_Angel of Death.
A fancy way of saying Grim Reaper/Death incarnate.
Oh, and the capital M is purely for aesthetics.

Why the moniker?
I used to frequent sites like Neopets and Gaia Online when I was still in school. I was on a Pokemon Board where each forum Moderator had their own ‘Gym’, and in our world (Niobi, as opposed to Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh or Unova), all the cities that the Gyms were based in were plays on names of elements from the Periodic Table. I chose Caesium as my starting point, and with some tweaking, it became Kaecyus. Kaecyus then started sticking on AIM, MSN, even with some people I know offline but met online refer to me as ‘Kae’. So it stuck permanently.
In short, a geeky play on a geeky name brought about by a geeky past-time.

You mean INSPIRED, rather than INSPIRED?
BTW, my online name is a mix of parts of my name, surname and the word cool(which I added because I couldn't think anything else quickly).
