My GamerTag is currently "Der Erlenkonig", after the German poem "Der Erlkonig" by Johann Goethe. I use it because I took German in high school, and I just remember reading that particular poem for whatever reason.

"Dough Nought" comes from an unfunny joke my high school chemistry teacher told one day. He had a crazy Irish accent that made him sound like a drunken mad scientist pirate. It became quite the in-joke with my IRL friends. The origin ID is just because some knob jockey already took the name I wanted. Sometimes I use an "h" instad of an underscore, for no particular reason.

My older brother (by 4 years) and I were orphaned at an early age when my parents were hit by a driver under the influence while coming home from work. We had no relatives in the US, so we were sent to an orphanage. Unfortunately, we were mistreated pretty badly there. A lot of things happened that I apparently pushed out of my memory. My brother had to remind me of some of the atrocities that took place there.
Anyway, my brother and I found a way to escape during one night, and were on the streets thereafter for a number of years. We scraped by in the expected ways, stealing, picking up odd jobs (mostly my brother, as he was older than me). I really owe a lot of my childhood safety to my brother.
One thing happened which changed our lives. One night, while looking for a warm place to sleep, we stumbled across a vent which led into a toilet factory. Toilets sold for quite a bit on the black market at the time, and we already had pretty good connections by then. Bidets were new and hot, and this manufacturer (name withheld) received one of the few licensing agreements to develop and manufacture bidet toilets.
Because of this miracle, we were able to afford a place to stay, start school, and make decent lives from absolute nothing by stealing toilets, "jacking crappers."
When BSN fame starts to get to my head, as I sit there, signing Video Game Groupies' chests, bam. Right there. I see my name, and I remember where I came from, and I never take anything for granted.
Or maybe I chose it randomly when I was 16 or 17, and it stuck. Don't remember which one.

My name seems silly, but it was chosen for a serious reason, to keep me grounded.

Where did the nickname Frosty come from? Do you always wear a top hat? Please say yes.Frosty10001 wrote...
Had Frosty as a nickname for 13 years. The first site I registered didn't have it available and suggested to add a 10001 at the end of it. Thanks RuneScape, for giving me the name I still use in everything.

He uses a character named "Duperman" as an example subject.
One thing you must realize. This was just AFTER he redid the Superman comics way back when and after his falling out with Marvel when they would not let him have any rights to any of his creations over the previous 15 years. he went to work for DC ...um.. when they were still separate companies...
Anyways. I took a liking to the name as he was always getting stuff wrong and that seemed to fit how I was playing games back then. I went by Duperman for a long time but folks kept shortening it to "Duper" or "Dupe" so I dropped the "man" part. What's annoying is that within the EA network thing .. I have like 3 different Duper variations because for a while you needed a new loggin with each new game they were releasing. >:\\
