Translation:
Haha all you silly Mac users who purchased our product actually expect us to support it. The joke is on you fools. Thanks for your money, I'm going to laugh in your face all the way to the bank now.
I will never make the mistake of buying a Cider port from EA ever again. In fact, I will probably ask for a refund so I can get the PC version that will actually be supported.

Interesting to note that EA is having layoffs whereas Blizzard Activision isn't. Blizz manages to make dual platform PC games from the ground up without using Cider or a porting house.

What I assume however, is that we (mac-gamers) will see a patch around the time Awakening comes out. I doubt we will get Awakening at the same time the other platorms, but if we get a patch which can run the expansion, its possible to make a port for it which allows us to run it on mac.
I get the feeling Bioware and EA relies on charity from the community to get their mac-version running

Hi Rafael,
We are aware of that issue and are working to fix and release a patch in the near future. I
don't know when a fix can be expected. When a patch is released, I believe the game will
automatically update, so we won't be notifying customers of the patch.
Thanks for reporting this issue to us -- all feedback is very much appreciated.
Kind regards

However, If the Mac version is compatible with the DA Toolset, you'll probably be able to download mods that fix whatever bugs you experience, or even fix them yourself.

Note: I have more and more people asking about Mac VPN support at work. I don't support VPN myself but I'm one of the testers when they come out with updates as they know I'm a Mac user and I'm a Computer Systems Analyst.
Note 2: We just got new bosses at work and he brought in his own team of assistants. Almost all of them use Macs at home and want them at work. Who is going to be stupid enough to say no to the CEO of a company with over 10,000 employees.
Things are looking up.

Keep in mind that Macs are moving up the % of desktop users. Apple is selling more than other companies. At least right now. The more Mac users out there the more likely they will create games faster for the Mac.

I agree with you. I think that the mac user base expands from their typical demographic to more casual users like gamers, then gaming with grow on the Mac. I've been a Mac user for four years now and my mom and sister, both computer noobs just bought macs.
I'm not sure what there is to test with Mac VPN. It's been working just fine since I started using Macs. Of course, there is a small period of time in between OS upgrades that it might have problems. But Macs make it ridiculously easy to dual boot. I usually have my stable drive and a separate that has a fresh install of the latest. I just install my stuff and make sure the key stuff works. Whatever is key, I wait until it's fixed then move to the latest with the Migration assistant and then I retire the old OS. Much easier than doing it with Windows. Although, I'm not sure if Windows 7 has this working better. But I don't really care.

That's basically exactly how it works from say, Vista to 7 (not that I would've ever touched Vista with a 10 foot pole) Settings & Transfer Wizard will move all your stuff for you, and you can migrate over. You transfer the settings first, then reinstall the associated apps, and you're good. (That's assuming you do a clean, not an in-place upgrade, at which point it just stays there). It's a lot easier with 7.

I am not a Mac user but this kind of response from "Roberto" is very negative to me and should be clarified better.

[gametreeonline #57005] Dragon Age, New DLC "Return of Ostagard", Patch and Expansion Pack
enviado por transgaming.com
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us with your questions.
We are currently working with BioWare to confirm further DLC and patches for the Mac, as
well as the upcoming expansion. Unfortunately, I am not able to comment on dates for the
expected availability of them, but I can assure you that we are looking forward to making
them available as soon as we can. Please stay tuned!
Kind regards,
Alec

Not wanting to bust your pretty bubble, but for business class use they are exceptional I agree, but I wonder how many of those 10,000 you quote are gamers, and if they are, wonders again how many have pc's too?
I do feel a little sorry for mac users, but ultimatly if you hve any sense, if you want to play games, why the hell did you buy a mac?

I fail to see the logic in blaming Mac users for being upset that EA refuses to properly support a product that they sold to us.

dogmatic, no no logic, they have every right to be upset, but that doesnt change my original question of why buy games for a mac, pointless moaning when people know they not supported enough, badly ported etc etc.
Sort of defies logic in itself really doesnt it. For the majority of everyday uses, yes, Macs are superior in every way....but will never be a gaming platform. What I don't get (and if there is a reason then I'll happily let you enlighten me) is why the hell would anyone buy a game for a mac (given reasons above)...or why the hell would anyone buy a mac for games?
sorry if offended anyone, was not my intention.

My best advice to Mac users who want to play AAA games is to bite the bullet and go with Boot Camp and Windows XP or 7. You will have much less pain and immediate access to DLC and patches.

I have a Vista Boot camp partition for various games like Dawn Of War 2, and upcoming Mass Effect 2. But I'd rather not have to boot into Winblows if I can help it.

All we are wondering is - EA / Bioware released the game, do they plan to support and extend it?
Can we just stick to whether or not that will happen?
