Hey there --
I have not been using the toolset for all that long, but I have been going great guns with it since I did start. I -am- having one problem that's making me go BSC. I simply cannot get my cutscene to trigger in the mod I am working on. The cutscene previews okay in the toolset, so I'm pretty sure that's not the issue. I have poured over the WIKI and CANNOT figure out the scripting sample that is supposed to fire a cutscene from a trigger, and evidently I am not doing something right in trying to trigger it from a dialogue choice.
Can anyone offer this poor, obsessed noob some helpful suggestions, pleeeeeeze??
Thank you all so much!!
Lispeth

What is it exactly you would like to do?
Do you want to run a cutscene which is associated with a conversation line?
Basically you need no additional script. Simply check it by right-click on the NPC to start the dialogue and the cutscene should run dependent on the dialogue choices.
If you want to trigger the conversation (with the associated cutscene) by a physical trigger placed in the area you have to assign a generic script to the trigger: gen00tr_talk (->_global\\trigger scripts)
Or do you want to trigger a cutscene which is not associated to a conversation? In that case the wiki script for a walk-in-area-trigger should do the job. (Always worth to ask and exclude: Really every resource (trigger, script...) exported?)
Obsession sounds ...good

Thanks Yara, I know I'll be using this information - currently stuck in a Nightmare and can't get the trigger to work. This should be very useful. Or at least narrow down what the problem is :-)

In addition to Yara's info, here's a group thread which discusses the various ways to trigger and the steps necessary to make them work.
