Has anyone else completely lost interests in ME universe after EC?

It seems like Bioware want the few fans they have left to hate them.
But can you give one legitimate reason why they would they do this? Why would any company actively and purposefully sabotage their own product with the sole intention of alienating their fans? Do you not think using this kind of rhetoric is just a little bit melodramatic?
No.
Which is what makes the behavior all the more puzzling.

The Mass Effect series was always about hope.

More than ever I'd love to know what the internal communication at Bioware looks like. Was outlawing IT discussion the decision of a single community manager? Was this a decision made by all full-time mods? Did they inform the other mods? Does anyone from the ME dev team have a say in this? Why now of all times?
I don't understand any of this.
IT wasn't exactly helping. And besides, IT is just one bit of the fanbase.
Groups aren't inaccessible, you know.

I'll still play the old stuff... but their attitude is making it harder to support them in the future.

Yes, it is a bit melodramatic, sorry for that, I could just log out and leave this forums, Whit a bad game I would laugh and show indifference if something goes wrong, but when you give so much of your attention and receive a middle finger... it gets melodramatic.
One legitimate reason ? I don't know, arrogance maybe ?. Maybe they think they can spare a few fans here and there to get things done their particular way and still survive, people is mad with Bioware for multiple reasons, not just the reasons discussed here. Maybe they do have so much fans that they can alienate a lot of them and still get tha money.
I'm being irrational here ? a topic that was totally on track with the game got banned while insulting and diminishing their supporters. This is the kind of things mass effect fans, and gamers in general should unite against. And this is still on topic, because they keep doing things that are getting everyone of us uninterested in the ME saga.

But I sure would like to love this series again.
On the bright side I have rediscovered Skyrim and while characters and story lacks the modding interface is easy enough that I have begun working on some NPC mods and am really enjoying the game now that so many really great mods have been released.

I lost interest after the EC but mainly because It felt like I almost won but then didn't. I stick around just in case something happens that lets a refuser win. In lore or not no Shepard of mine would choose anything other than refuse but then I lose and I really have no interest in a game that jerks my dick like that. I have 0 interest in ME4 and 0 interest in any DLC that does not let me actually beat the game but I come back in case a mod comes out that lets me win or a dlc comes out that lets me win in which case I would happily by all dlc for ME3 to date I have bought none. I don't play a game to be forced to lose.
But I sure would like to love this series again.

It removes the catalyst from the equation. Unfortunatly I would have prefered my Shepard sacrifice herself to defeat the reapers like I had the Warden do in DAO...that had my crying for a long time.

I still feel like i'm in denial of the way the series concluded. It feels completely wrong to walk away from it, remembering it as the franchise that i thought would be the best i've ever played, but failed to live up to our expectations.
After ME2 i really thought ME3 was gonna be the best one. It's a damn shame that it didn't really live up to its predecessors.

Then why are you here?
"I don't like ME anymore" (for whatever reason. Didn't like the ending, didn't like the DLC, didn't like ME3 core game, MP, etc). Why are you still here?
I have, over the course of a long life, fallen in and out of love with games, authors, films, etc. When I am done with them, I am done with them. I don't linger, hang around, etc and tell people about how I am "done" with whatever it is. Sure, maybe later on, I come back to it and reread/replay/rewatch, etc and maybe get involved again, but if I am done with something, I leave it.
So if you have "lost interest" (or similar) why are you still here?

That was kind of what I meant, I just didn't ask it very well.
If you are still interested in characters, or discussing past glories, or future DLC ideas, or similar, you have not "completely lost interest" in the game. People who hang around because they have friends here (great!) or enjoyed what happened in the past or whatever I totally understand. As pointed out, that is a key part of a "social" site.
I do not understand why people who say they have no interest in a subject feel the need to say that they no longer have an interest in the subject. Are you looking for stimulation as to why you should stay? (like from fellow posters or developers to convince you to stay) Are you looking for validation as to why you should go?
As I said, I don't mean this in a snarky way. I am curious as to why people (not just this OP) say these things so that wer can make things better here to prevent people from posting like this (becoming disenchanted) in the future.
Some men just want to watch the world burn:devil:

I agree I dont understand why people like to hang around if they have lost all intrest. in all honesty I think in the back of there mind they hope they can complain enough where something will happen and you and the people at Bioware will change something about the game or the ending.
I honestly like the game and the way it ended
Thanks Bioware

I just finished The Witcher 2 now that is a game worthy of purchase.
If ME4 and The Witcher 3 are coming out and if I have to choose between them it is definitely The Witcher 3.
Remember ME2 in the end where you could choose to help or thwart TIM? I hoped that in ME 3 you started with Cerberus or The Alliance depending on that choice ....the people from Projekt RED actually made a game where your choices really mattered

I agree that would have been interesting, but that also would have created almost twice the amount of work for an allready big complex game. In a perfect world that could have worked but one with budget and time restraints it would have proved very difficult to complete.

After EC I played both from the Cerberus base, and I played Leviathan and Omega on both. But with the game was written it leaves plenty of things open to discussion.

I don't think there's any of the people here who has lost interest. That is just a poor choice of words. But, a great many people are severely dissapointed for a number of reasons. They see one of their favourite game-series and worse, one of their favourite developers go down the drain.
That's how I perceive it. Mass Effect was amazing. Dragon Age; Origins was amazing. Everything you have released since then has been on a downhill slope. Rushed, underdeveloped and with a great many poorly implemented changes. All that without even mentioning the infamous endings of ME3.
You can take that as you want. You can can tell us not to debate certain issues or theories in the public forum. I would, however, were I in your shoes, stop and contemplate why all these people are still here, raging and spewing their venom?
I, for one, because I used to love your games. Games I have played since Baldur's Gate. And because I still cling on to a hope that you'll realize you are marching in the wrong direction, alienating a large part of your fan-base without getting anything in return.

Well I can't speak for everyone, but I think it is comparable with starwars ( and imo Bioware is making the same mistakes...if you can call these mistakes), in the sense that the original installment got my interest, ME1 was a dark space RPG where choices mattered and the universe and the preface of the story ( which slowly unfolded itself along the way) were compelling, in ME2 the story was dumbed way down ( and every companion had daddy issues) and was more shooterbased, but that was forgiven since in the end you really could make a decision. I also believed that this was a little lull before the big storm ( meaning ME3) where everything came together, instead we ( imo )got a polished turd, no reall decisions, story itself was pretty linear and it was even more a corridor shooter rather than an RPG, characters were flat and uninspiring, I also got sick of the emo music that played on the back ground everytime some sob story came up and he worst was that in the end nothing you did even mattered because it was all being ended by a color of choice explosion which was based on a Matrix/deus ex logic and not ME logic ( / canon)
You guys should take a look at The Witcher 2, although not perfect here you see everything Bioware is lacking I don't think it is talent because I believe you have talented people working there I think it has something to do with how you guys are approaching the game ( and the design decisions that come with them), I believe that you should go back to your roots and start from a quality game again and the profits will flow from that ( instead of the other way around where every decision is made from a money/target group perspective), because let's face it DA2 was a joke, ME 3 was a joke and Kotor online...well let's not go there , because that even hurts me ( since I was hoping on a new KOTOR release ( normal single player rpg ) )

Hi Priss that may very well be...but sometimes less is more.
It is my believe that they should make a game as best as possible, trying to push boundaries inspiring their employees so they think along and make a better game altogether.
Nothing I've seen in ME3 suggests to me that they were even trying, the only thing they were doing well was raking in teh money, with day one DLC and a good marketing team.
Bioware is enslaved in corporate culture and is not talking about a new rpg mechanic or good concept for a new game anymore instead they talk about franchises, revenue, ROI .
Let's face it unless Bioware shifts its focus they are done for.
At this point in time I believe CD Projekt RED is the next thing in RPG land and the much needed bit of fresh air, let's hope it stays that way

Exactly my thoughts every word by word.
One thing I beg to add: The Witcher 2 is virtually perfect in choice/consequences and story aspects IMHO and far surpasses ME1 in that regard which is my most favorite game of the series. The complexity of plots might seem hard to grasp at first but when you understand them through careful reading it's almost on par with Song of Ice and Fire, only shorter in length.
