I know this may sound a little snarky, but I really don't mean it to. I mean this as an actual legitimate question:

Then why are you here?

"I don't like ME anymore" (for whatever reason. Didn't like the ending, didn't like the DLC, didn't like ME3 core game, MP, etc). Why are you still here?

I have, over the course of a long life, fallen in and out of love with games, authors, films, etc. When I am done with them, I am done with them. I don't linger, hang around, etc and tell people about how I am "done" with whatever it is. Sure, maybe later on, I come back to it and reread/replay/rewatch, etc and maybe get involved again, but if I am done with something, I leave it.

So if you have "lost interest" (or similar) why are you still here?

I don't think there's any of the people here who has lost interest. That is just a poor choice of words. But, a great many people are severely dissapointed for a number of reasons. They see one of their favourite game-series and worse, one of their favourite developers go down the drain.

That's how I perceive it. Mass Effect was amazing. Dragon Age; Origins was amazing. Everything you have released since then has been on a downhill slope. Rushed, underdeveloped and with a great many poorly implemented changes. All that without even mentioning the infamous endings of ME3.

You can take that as you want. You can can tell us not to debate certain issues or theories in the public forum. I would, however, were I in your shoes, stop and contemplate why all these people are still here, raging and spewing their venom?

I, for one, because I used to love your games. Games I have played since Baldur's Gate. And because I still cling on to a hope that you'll realize you are marching in the wrong direction, alienating a large part of your fan-base without getting anything in return.

Ah well I'm not going to comment on what you said, OP, you have such strong feelings about ME. But to answer the title, I haven't completely lost interest in ME, still obsessed with it and I love everything about it, especially the races and Shepard/friends. It's too much to let go just because of the ending or other flaws about ME.

Personally, I feel like the ME3 ending destroyed any desire to replay the series. However, I still hang around the Mass Effect section of the board in the hope that I can give some useful feedback (mostly to do with the ethical shortcomings of the ending, as I have training in ethics) and out of the wish that Bioware might do something better with the ending in spite of saying that they're done with it. I also like to discuss the parts of the series that I don't think the ending ruined, e.g. the awesomeness of Mordin.

I'm on the BSN anyway to check the Dragon Age boards, so why not?

Yes, but not in the way you mean it. I still love the ME universe presented in the trilogy, but the story of the ME universe now feels complete to me, so my ME4 excitement is very low.

I reserve the right to completely change my mind once the first ME4 trailer is released.

A point beyond well said. Sure there are those who complain to complain, but most complain because they've had such an interest in something that made them care enough. I hated how the geth/quarian conflict ended with such a powerful moment and its importance was simply cast aside in the end.

Apathy and the silence that comes with it is even worse and it's something I've felt more than I thought I would.  It hasn't been a nice feeling having the game series that influenced the desire to venture into the writing field while providing a definition of what character development should be, mean less and less to me. I've played ME3 once or twice since my intial play through and that is something I never imagined would occur after buying the collectors edition of my favorite game series.

Yes...and no. I want loose interest, but ME has had such an impact on me that I can't let go. I have an obsession, yet it's sick, but I can't deny it. I still grasp, *hope* for something to come out that will solve these endings. It's a false hope, even I know it.

BUT GOD DAMN THESE THEORIES WITH ALL THEIR UNDENIABLE PROOF! xD

That's me.

I had been a huge fan of ME series ever since ME1 came out until I played the Extended Cut of ME3. The game was sensational in so many levels and its narative quality was a culmination of years of Bioware's RPG development experience.

However, when I played EC and saw the infamous Normandy landing scene where Harbinger completely ignores it, I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. While I understand the DLC is free gift to fans from devs, they could have easily made the sceen to make sense only by making Normandy appear after Harbinger has left  and evacuate survivors from a distance to the beam.

During the beam run, Shepard could have exchanged a last good bye and left his squadmates to evacuate to a safe place where Normandy picks them up afterwards. Why did they have to insert Normandy in a cut-scene it does not belong to and make everything so absurd?

To me it seems as if writers and devs don't even care about ME universe and its plot integrity, as long as they can appease fans asking for a chance to say good bye to their LI. If they had given it a second of thought they would know how idiotic it is for Normandy to make a pick up at that moment, yet they went with it without a secnod thought.

Why should fans care and love ME universe when its very creators don't hesitate to defile its plot intergrity and a sense of realism? I'm not even discussing whether the scene was relevant or not because it's so freaking obvious the whole thing was a plot hole mess.

My interest only shortly came back with the launch of Omega DLC, in which writers have gone even lower and made Aria a wimp whose personlity changes depending on couple choices you make during dialogues. How very mature design of storytelling.

I don't know about you, but I really can't bring myself to love ME lore since none of them seem believable after EC mess and overly childish Omega DLC <_<

....kinda, but stilll hoping they can fix it

Couldn't have said it better myself, I just want to see a freaking reunion with Shepard and his LI/friends....just that, then Bioware can do whatever the heck they want with ME, I'll still love it. xD

Not in slightest, I enjoyed ME3 and even the endings both post and pre-EC.

I was very disapponted by DA2 though but they managed to rekindle my interest with the DLC (bought all DA2 DLC to show approval and benefit Bioware due to their stance they took when one of their employees was bullied and threatened by so called fans over her comment plus also donated reasonable amount to anti-bullying charity).

They showed was heading in right direction towards more my tastes and preferences again (still long way to go though overall). The current knowledge about DA3 I have shows signs it is probably going to be a quite good game even though still has some negative elements that detract from my enjoyment in general (paraphrasing, dialogue wheel and human only protaganist plus no Origins style gameplay prelude/introduction to the game). Other than those it sounds like might be good so I am looking forward to DA3 and ME4.

For a few months, yes. Heavily. Now, I'm still watching, and getting to play ME1 on PS3 has reminded me why I liked this series in the first place. ME3 will forever remain an enormous botch, and anything to do with its ending and some elements it introduced or the way the backlash has been handled are still a reason why I'm wary of the future. I still come back because there's still good discussion, even if you like to point to the worst 1% of dissenting opinion and go "SEE! THEY'RE VENOMOUS AND THEY'LL HATE NO MATTER WHAT! SILENCE!" I love the way the MP team has handled their side and those dudes keep my faith in BW still.

The run to the beam where Harbinger is blasting the crap out of everything around, does make it a tough pill to swallow. To see the Normandy swoop in to grab the crew. Even though it had to happen to get the crew out to leave you alone. Maybe it sould have happend before Harbinger landed? But with EC the ending choices made so much more sense with Leviathan. Just my opinion. The point of Shepard's beam blast to the the choices does leave so much for interpretation.

I for one have certainly NOT lost intrest in Mass Effect. The more I play it the more I reallize what a great journey it is. I mean where does it stop? The combat, graphics, maps , environments, music, art, characters, relationships, story, involment, back stories, codex, I mean what a Flippin' experience you get for the comparatively small amount of $ it is.

I am hopeful for the future of ME and do honestly hope some questions in the end will come to light in some fashion.

But no, have not lost interests at all.

Honestly, it'll all depend on how BioWare bridges the gap between this game and the next, and what storytelling direction they'll take. I haven't lost interest, but I'm wary.

Wow. I haven't thought of that, what if the reason they refuse to comment on the ending is because they'll reveal it all in fourth game? That is if it's a sequel, I hope! I know they're done with Shepard's story, but what if they're wrapping it up in fourth game in a cinematic/cuscene, then continue on to the actual ME4. :o

That makes me feel a little better thinking about that, but yeah...you're right, it really depends on how they'll bridge the gap.

I was kind of the same way with another game that I had a deep interest in. However, something happened to it that basically made me lose complete interest. Instead of doing like some do (use forums negatively to talk about said game or how they got the short end of the stick), I just packed my bags and left.

Not really related to Mass Effect 3, but I was describing a similar situation to what many have here, and how I dealt with it.

Shortly after I found Mass Effect 2 and haven't looked back to that game.

I will stay here as long as the forums remain open, although, I might check out some other Mass Effect related forums here for a change.

Although, I would say that Bioware has become my new favorite developer as of late.

Honestly I've just completely stopped caring, I mean it's obvious Bioware themselves have stopped caring so why should I continue?
