I don't think so, it seems they want indoctrination (and everything related to it) out of the forums, pal.

Then why did they sticky the topic, why not just lock it down and be done with it?

Tomorrow is Tuesday...a DLC release day...

Maybe something is coming...maybe it is what we have all been waiting for...

......Dinosaur DLC?

They did mention New Toys. )))

Until proven wrong, I'm going to assume that discussion of IT is still allowed. Just no more "IS THE IT FOR REALZ?" threads.

The instant deletion of legit threads proved you wrong.

Toys maybe that are vehicles?  If so, that would be a welcome addition but with no Harbinger fight or war assets in action, this still would not interest me.

The indoctrination theory is both valid and intended...

@Bill - Of course it is, sweety!
Edit: Maybe it's a fun topic to discuss, but can't be taken seriously.

Let's face it the environment for these forums has become rather toxic as of late with a lot of name calling and insults. They may have to clamp down hard for the time being to try and get a handle on the situation.

These are not forums that are friendly to new players at all.

I think banning any mention about IT may be going a little to far and I doubt they will do that. The threads I saw getting closed where ones with a lot of insults and the ones asking why a certain thread was locked which they have always done.

They probably stickied it so that people could see why it was locked down.

There are ways to keep forums constructive without having to resort to closing large portions or numerous threads.

The Nexus sites do this quite well.  They used to have a zero tolerance policy.  Break the terms and you got banned from posting, period.  Didn't know b/c you didn't read the TOS when you clicked on them? Too bad.

If people refuse to moderate their own behavior, then BW needs to do it for them.   That's what happens when you have players from the age of 15 to 50 on the same forum.

If individual players can't keep the discussion constructive and respectful, they should be banned. Period.

Trolling should obviously get you banned.  Negative opinions are fine, but they need to be presented in a constructive and respectful manner.

This way the threads and ideas discussed in them remain.  It is important to be able to have constructive conversation at the community level -- not restricted to groups.

Successfully achieving this requires a very heavy amount of forum moderation.

WTF happened to the forum today? I see Evil Chris is back from vacation. Something strange is going on. Banning indoctrination theory discussion?

I guess instead of moderating, you know, their JOB... Its easier just to lockdown. Well there goes my reason for coming to this sub-forum.

The IT thread became a forum of its own, and i find his comment about "vocal minority" insulting. Trolls will be trolls. Posters well stray off topic. That is what moderating is for. I was mostly a lurker in the IT thread, and i guarantee there were many like me.

Guess I'll stick to the MP forums now.

No one was forced to post in the IT thread.  If some users want to move on, they do so by not visiting the threads that they have no interest in.  But the ones that still want to talk about IT, even if they're a minority, should still have that option.  Who cares how big a thread gets?  Did the IT theory get too big for all the bandwith on the Internet?

You want to talk about ME4?  Go to the ME4 forum .... which doesn't exist.  In the meantime, we have a ME3 forum for story discussions where we can't discuss the story.

IT discussion has been banned?

Heh, maybe now we can have some interesting conversation without people bringing IT up in every topic.

Doubtful now that theres not a place where you can go if you want to talk about IT. It'll just be everywhere.

I don't really understand his logic for closing it, can someone explain that to me? He says "the thread has gone on long enough" and "some people are dominating the discussion" (to paraphrase) - it was not off-topic, it just "went on too long" and "had some vocal proponents"?

Maybe they are pissed that it was one of the most successful threads, if not the most successful thread, on the entire forum which speaks to the popularity of IT.

I could go on a rant about separate but equal, but that'd be silly, so I'll just say group disussions suck super hard.
