Dunno if this is a confirmation the calling happening in 9:10 as Duncan apparently was made Warden Commander in 9:10

Codex text
Duncan became Ferelden's Commander of the Grey in 9:10 Dragon, assuming the mantle from Commander Polara, under whom he had served since the order's restoration in Ferelden.
Polara, who hailed from Antiva, had built an amiable relationship with King Cailan. She overcame many of the objections of Teyrn Loghain, who had argued strenuously against the order returning—after all, the Wardens had attempted to overthrow the Ferelden throne centuries before.
When Polara disappeared—perhaps recalled to Weisshaupt, although none in Ferelden saw her leave, nor have seen her since—Duncan bequeathed to her son a silverite axe of great value. Duncan said he had wielded it and a twin in younger days, back when he had been a far different man. He'd named the axe "Fiona" after a Warden who inspired him, and suggested that the son ought to take similar inspiration from his mother.
It's unknown what became of Polara's son, other than that he fled Ferelden during the same Blight in which Duncan perished.

She is a terrible Grand Enchanter. I would have preferred an Aquetarian like First Enchanter Irving.

Why do you think Fiona was possessed? Because she didn't think the mages should continue to live in servitude to the Chantry anymore? She found the Chantry controlled Circle worse than her life as an Orlesian sex slave, so I think she has some idea about how monstrous the Circle can be for a mage.
Mages shouldn't have to live on their knees to the Chantry. I'm glad she fought for the emancipation of her people.

No, Sure, she doesn't like the Circle but when she is possessed, the demon makes her relive her days before the Circle which all but confirms that her abuse by an orlesian noble is her worst memory, not the Circle. The Hierophant wrote...

Goldanna had a mother who died giving birth possibly to Alistair- according to her, and she was a child who had just lost her mother. I've been wondering if Goldanna's mother was meant to raise Alistair along with her own baby, and young Goldanna didn't fully understand the situation.
It would be helpful if we knew where exactly Alistair got his information. Or you know, if they'd just finally give us a yes or no answer. How long has it been now?
On Topic- I would love to meet Fiona in game. It would be great to see a mage authority figure who is not intimidated by Templars.

Pro-mage and pro-templar people have discussed the negativity Fiona has over the Circle (in comparison to her past) in the past.

Wait wait wait. It's been a long while since I read the Calling, but the timeline seems seriously borked here. it's suppose to have happened in 9:10, isn't it?
The Stolen Throne ends at just the end of the 8th age, right? 8:99?
There's some conflict as to how old Cailan is supposed to be during the Calling, either five or nine. But by 9:10, he could be no older than ten, given he didn't exist in 8:99, and I'm supposed to believe that the Warden Commander spent her time entertaining a very young boy?
During the Calling, Genevieve, not Polara, was the Commander, so if it happened in 9:10...you know what? I quit. I'm totally confused now.

I think it was suppose to be Maric. But Cailan was 5 at the time. Polara could have been another Warden from another part of the world to help teach Duncan the ropes to warden commander and help recruit new wardens. Remember Genievive died in the calling so I'm assuming Polara was one of the handful of wardens that came to Fereldan when Fiona brought her baby to Maric which I still believe its Alistair
That doesn't explain the timeline discrepancy, however, which is what has me confused. I could buy another Commander coming in to replace Genevieve, obviously, but it doesn't fit with the given timeline. I know I've read that The Calling takes place in 9:10, so that obviously doesn't work, if that's actually when the book's events took place--which I'm not saying is a given. It's the only time frame I've ever seen provided, however.

polara isn't an alias to Fiona Duncan named the silver axe Fiona from the warden who inspired him and wanted Polara's son to be inspired by his mother

Indeed, I think that it's stupid to believe that she's possessed only because she want to free mages. I think that she might be a bit too much extremist to me to be liked by my canon character, though I don't know much about her involvment, since the summary in the wiki isn't complete (in opposition of Adrian, who I know well enough to believe that my canon, if supporting the mages, would do everything he can to not let her have much power). So I can't make a full judgement on her character.
I just hope that both factions will be rapresented in a better way than DA2, with both good and bad characters.

I sympathize with the mages but no matter what, the circle is always needed.
If they had only listened to Wynne, they would have been able to achieve more freedoms without further bloodshed, yet they go ahead and kill Pharamond, proving to the templars that they do not deserve the freedoms they desire.

Conspiracy theory: Goldanna's mom was pregnant and died in childbirthwith the baby who belonged to some random dude who didn't know about the pregnancy. Maric & Eamon seized the opportinity to claim the baby that Duncan and Fiona brought them was Goldanna's mother's (after all, there's no one to refute that story) keeping Alistair's true origins a secret.WillPF363 wrote...

I'd like to know why Fiona left the Wardens and returned to the Circle. I'd imagine it was part of her agenda all along to gain independence from the Chantry. Why go back otherwise? The only other reason I can think of is that people were asking too many questions about why she hadn't heard The Calling yet. But you'd think her freedom from the taint would be something the Grey Wardens would want to know more about, not ostracize her for.

Wynne says in the City of Amaranthine that she argues against breaking free from the Chantry because the Chantry would rather kill all the mages than see them free.
