I think the final "farewells" are some of the most powerful moments in the trilogy

I was never one of those huge Garrus fans that everyone seems to be but after the conversation that my Shepard had with him at the ending...

I think if people could accept that she's always "loved" Shepard (regardless if you ever romanced her) instead of thinking of her as a stalker/creeper, then the "gift" would be easier to accept for those that didn't romance her.StayFrosty05 wrote...
I like it....it gets me emotionally every time...I just wish I wasn't made to feel so rotten when Shep turns Liara's gift down......otherwise I am touched all the way.
It happens in real life all the time. I'm sure many here can think of someone (in the back of their minds) who they've loved, and still have some love for, even though they could never be together.
She loves Shep.....but will always be his/her friend even if she could never have him/her
I don't think that is the case, actually.
If unromanced I think Liara just looks at Shepard as a very close friend. The gift scene is very different depending on whether Shepard is in a relationship with Liara or not.

That was in the launch trailer and it still gets me every time. Especially Shepard's response if you take the Paragon interrupt.

I thought Liara and Garrus had the most emotional goodbyes, though I quite liked Javik's as well. I had the version where he intends to take his own life where his squadmates are buried.

I think we were supposed to imagine the old crew fighting.
All I can see is Jacob taking hits and going down and being as entirely useless as he was in ME2.
What? Nooooo, don't you remember him telling us how his "kill count was off the scale"? Unless he was lying. Which he probably was.

Mission didnt do it for me and the " goodbye's" are part of that......i think it depends on which characters you have affiliation with most

I'm curious, how does it change?....Liara and Shep kiss in the gift scene?

Yeah, and if the romance is carried over from ME1, you get an "I love you."StayFrosty05 wrote...

I think you can even be mean enough to her so that she doesn't even offer you the gift, but I mean.. come on! :innocent:

Yeah it's far more professional if your an ass to her. I've done it,more then once. Which is why Id on't get the complaints about the gift scene.

I'm not sure if you can actually....My Shep didn't pick her up until after Virmire in ME1, didn't do LotSB and though he does speak to her on the Citadel to encourage her to speak with her 'father' (I love that 'Anthropocentric bag of dicks' line.....
And thank you for answering my question Zazzerka....appreciated....

If you take the gift and you did not romance Liara, you get a hug from her. Slightly platonic, slightly not. Which worries me...I still think she has a crush on Shepard whether you like it or not.
Oh, I believe she does with the way she snuggles into him.

The only thing I can say I actively dislike about it is the completely pointless turret scene, especially coming after Garrus (and romanced Ashley for my male Shepard) goodbyes and right before Liara/Javik (mostly if you convince him to keep living)/Wrex/Tali.
It's so remarkably out of place and adds nothing to the overall scene.
I do really enjoy the goodbyes though.

Except I could be wrong about the gift thing. I seriously thought there was a way to stop her even offering it.

I still get the chills/goosebumps like I did on my very first playthrough (seriously). The moment is so tense. The atmosphere is surreal (the music helps). It's gripping, to say the least. They were pitch perfect in my opinion.
Each and every character brought a smile to my face and broke my heart at the same time (I know, real "manly")
Vega calling me "Loco", Ashley: "seems like it always comes down to this.", telling Garrus to remember to duck, the entire convo with Javik is pure gold, Wrex never broke character even before the battle of all time, EDI's display of emotion, "Tali Zorah vas Normandy".....Liara's "gift" (with Vigil music)
Who agrees or has similar emotions/feelings about this specific part of the game?
(No drama or trolling pertaining to the Ending, "pretty" please? Let's have a serious yet laid back discussion. And if this particular segment didn't "get" you....feel free to share what moment(s) did)
Agree. The final farewells are indeed some of the best moments of the game.

Not really. If you romanced her, you're facing eachother and you kiss.....if you didnt romance her, she's standing next to you and puts her head on your shoulder.Han Shot First wrote...

And even if you didn't romance her in ME1, its quite apparent she still has those sort of feelings. In ME2, its blatantly obvious from the moment when you get to Illium and walk into her office.....and especially during LotSB
