Ah, the gifts of getting up early!

On the day it came out I was going to go before school ended for the kiddies. But then I got lazy and thought there was no way a Pokemon game would get sold out.

Eterna5 made a gamble and got burned. This is bad karma for that time When I bought the last copy of HeartGold and there was a kid behind me who wanted it.

I'm enjoying the game so far, but I'm disappointed in the small number of new Pokemon, and many of them are....questionable in their design. Binacle for example... No, just no. Smh.

I've been pleased with almost all the new designs, but I agree about the quantity of new 'mons.

Especially that a bunch of the old Bird Pokémon are available along with Fletchling. I have a Pidgey and a Tailow. Charizard is the only flying Pokémon I use.

I also think raising pokémon is a little... Easy?

I just beat the second gym and I already have Malamar, Pangoro, Charizard, Scolipede and Grenija almost all in level 40. At the same level I would usually be by the fourth or fifth gym in Johto.

I think mostly to blame for this are the changes to the exp share. 50% exp to the whole of your team makes one hell of a difference in the long run.

Yes, I talked to my friends from my course today, they all love the new Exp share.

I hate it, raising is a breeze now.

I actually turned off the Exp share, it makes the levels go up way too fast and i feel it takes away some of the fun in some way

I'm inclined to agree. I'm just too lazy to turn it off and grind instead.


Also, X and Y have sold over 4 million during the opening weekend.

Which versions did you guys get?

Of the people on my course (I'm buds with around 15 of them) only one have gotten x of those that bought the games.

I got Y, though it was a difficult choice.

Interestingly, (despite its very small sample size) the BSN poll on this is 50/50 at the moment.

We have had a badass dragon, a badass badger/rat thing that has fire that comes out from the back of its neck, a badass chicken that knows kickboxing, a badass monkey who is Sun Wukong and a badass pig who is Zhu Bajie.

I really think all the fire starters have been neat looking and cool. But I like most starters.


Anyways I am going for the frog and Charmander when I get the game.

I felt Blaziken was the last badass fire starter. After that they went downhill fast.

Aaaanywho, seems I won't have that problem this time.

Now I'm wondering if there will be a way to get my Pearl pokémon over to X.

I went with Fennekin, then picked up the Torchic, and picked Bulbasaur.

I also got Y version.

And a certain tumblr Prince knows and a banner for a website that has characters dressed as the legendaries makes me doubt that my thoughts are my own
