Well I caved and ordered Walmart's Pokemon special edition 3ds bundle with X. it comes with some cool styluses for 234.99$

Back in Platinum(gah, wish I could transfer it to X) I've got I believe a level 100 Darkrai.

Years ago on the IGN boards, I met this guy who told me to catch 5 of those early level mons and trade him those+my starter(which I didn't want anyway).

I gave him those 6, he gave me in return-

Mew
Shiny Mew
Pikachu w Surf
Shiny Eevee
Darkrai
some other I can't remember

Wish I could find that guy because he was the best

Perhaps you can. There is a new trading feature where you can trade a Pokemon to a random, anonymous person and get a random Pokémon in return.

One of my friends got a shiny ditto.

I skipped Heartgold/Soulsilver also. A decision I deeply regret...

With all the advancements made in X and Y, I don't think the older titles will have aged very well.

I loved Heart Gold. But Gold/Crystal was also my favorite generation.

Add another to those who skipped HG/SS, though mine was due to my old DS Lite breaking on me sometime after Platinum's release. Didn't touch a Ninty handheld again until the 3DS released and then I had a choice of Gen V or HG/SS. My curiosity and eagerness to see what the new Pokemans had to offer led to me getting Black instead. I'll get SS still, one day.

So you guys want to start exchanging 3DS friend codes? It's a good idea when it comes to things like the Friend Safari.
