The fact that someone already got 8 badges is discouraging.

Dont tell me the game is that short :P

Also you guys are killing me with not having played Heartgold/Soulsilver. Those are like the best games out there! :P

I know people that have beaten the game and caught all the legendaries. I'm powering through. I took on a Psychic gym with Delphox because I didn't have any Dark types that wouldn't take forever to train.

I'll be rushing through this time, and starting another one going at a much slower pace.

I also have Silver, like the original. And Soulsilver on a emulator.

One of my mates have all those semi-legendaries but Dratini. I would assume that you can catch it with a super rod in a pond or something. It would be surprising if Dratini is the only one not available.

Hey, I'm just noticing you have a Azumarill, how do you find it?

I noticed its abilities on Bulbapedia the other day and it seems like having a adamant Azumarill with the Huge Power ability and its hidden ability Sap Sipper is OP.

Has a Gentle Nature, met it on Route 22 as an Azurill. It is fully trained using Super Training, has the Huge Power ability, I don't know how or if you can check hidden abilities, and she is a tank

Dratini can be found on Route 21, both games according to Serebii.

It did make things a little more interesting with catching, because some you catch in their later evolutions, and would have to breed to find them.

Well, Pokémon can only have one(or none) hidden abilities and the wiki's says that Azumarills is Sap Sipper, which makes it immune to grass moves.

Will check out, is it possible for it to not have the ability?

People seem to be loving Vivillion which isn't surprising considering the move pool. Quiver Dance, Hurricane, Bug Buzz, String Shot, Psybeam, Sleep Powder and the CompoundEyes ability for examples.

I couldn't afford it anyway.

I'm just going to pin-stripe my 2DS. Lots of empty, black plastic without that hinge.

I would post a screen-shot of my playthrough, but the 2DS is the only thing I have a camera with other than my laptop, and... Oh fine I'll try.

Had a friend playing a guy, we wanted to compare how the game differs because of gender.

"When a Pokémon with Sap Sipper is hit with a Grass-type attack, its Attack is increased by one level, and the move itself has no effect. The only Grass-type move that will not activate Sap Sipper is Aromatherapy. The Pokémon's Attack will only increase one level if hit by Bullet Seed."

That's why I said "op"
I think I'll raise a Azumarill myself

Not if X/Y function like former generations in this regard and assumming this hasn't been changed.

I love Eevee!

I'll train a all Eeveelution team at some point too.
Lead by my Glaceon. Glaceon and Espeon are my faves.

I wanted my Shiny Eevee to become a Shiny Glaceon but I screwed up and it ended up a Shiny Leafeon.

Which I was okay with, mind you. But still.

I lol'd. That guy and his clones who have nothing better to do than stop select people from entering a non-existant blackout zone is clearly up to something.

And Umbreon and Leafeon for me.

Jolteon's always been my favourite since Red/Blue, followed by Espeon and Umbreon who are tied then Glaceon. Sylveon's warming up to me though. Regardless I like all the Eeveelutions, those are just my favourites.

So I'm trying to get an Espeon with Psybeam, because I don't want to wait ~20 levels until Psychic/Move Relearner. The problem is you catch Eevee around level 19, and Espeon learns Psybeam at 21, so there's not much room to level it up.

I'm trying to calculate the amount of steps it takes to reach max happiness. From what I can tell, in Gen V (assuming nothing has changed):

Walking 128 steps gives you +2 points to Happiness from 0 - 199, and +1 from 200 - Max (220)
A Luxury Ball gives +1 to each
Soothe Bell gives another +1, though you get that a bit later on X and Y so I don't think I'll count it
Increasing friendship in the location you met is another +1
Eevee starts at 70 Happiness

HappinessPoints * (StepsPerIncrease / IncreaseAmount))
129 * (128 / (2 + 1 + 1)) = 4128
21 * (128 / (1 + 1 + 1)) = 896
Total = 5024

Does anyone know if you get happiness from Super Training because EV berries used to give happiness?

Actually, you can use Pokemon-Amie for raising happines without walking, and there is a rare punching bag that will raise happiness.
