Unfortunately, Aime raises "Affection," which is arbitrarily not happiness. Affection affects Sylvion's evolving, but not Espeon, Umbrion, Riolu, etc.Gravisanimi wrote...
Actually, you can use Pokemon-Amie for raising happines without walking, and there is a rare punching bag that will raise happiness.

There is still the punching bag in Super Training though

Beat the Elite 4, any suggestions?
The story is actually pretty dark for a standard Pokemon game, but the kind of dark that is only dark if you notice it, the kids won't notice.
Someone actually died (which was slightly subverted), and they talk about genocide and death directly.

Damn, I'm interested. But if you beat the Elite 4, I don't know what you can do. I guess since it counts as post-game, you'll meet your rival in some city, battle his ass, and he'll give you an Absolite which you can use or give to me if you're not interested. Other than battling him though, *shrugs*
Face the best trainers around if possible.

Where is the logic in letting us change our hairstyles but not allowing us to remove our hats.

^ THIS
And no preview of the hair styles, so if I want to change it, I have to spend cash to pay to see it, then go change it if I don't like it.
Not something that really bothers me, but it is something that bugs me.

Dilemma. Buy Pokemon X or Y. I think Yveltal is more awesome and I love the fact that Y has Larvitar. But dat X Mewto and Charizard Mega Evolution..... Also X gives me the option to catch Houndour....

So I caught a Fletchling and brought it right to the Happiness rater. It had the "just starting to get to know one another" response (or whatever whatever the lowest one is), as expected. I maxed out Aime Affection and Super Training and it still got the same rating, so that confirms neither affect Happiness.

Decided to go with Y since I love Tyranitar too much and Yveltal is just badass. Now I need to decide which started Pokemon to choose....
For the kanto starters I'll probably choose either a Squirtle or a Charmander, but I'm more inclined to go with Squirtle.

If you want a complete elemental team you'll want to pick Froakie/Chespin and/or Bulbasaur/Squirtle and get the promotional Torchic from Mystery Gift, that'll give you a grass, a water and a fire starter.Milan92 wrote...

I went with Froakie because Greninja is very balanced in stats(works well for modest build too) and becomes a dark type in final evolution (immunity to psychic)
And I went with Charmander because Charizard is immune to ground and this way I'd have Pokémon that could learn Fly and surf early.

I still hate having to stick HMs on pokémon in my party just to get places.

Well, it's not as bad these days as it used to, cut has only been used in optional places to get items and strength is usually used to make shortcuts.
Besides, Surf and fly are good attacking moves in their own right.
You can also catch a bidoof early, that can learn strength, cut, dive, waterfall, surf, rock smash etc.

I don't know if you have to evolve Bidoof to teach it surf (Bibarel is normal/water) but yeah, you can.
Besides, nothing's stopping you from switching around, all towns have pokemon centres. I only bring my bibarel when there is actually a point, I usually travel with my main six or a Pokémon I'm trining (at the momen my Gyarados)

Just wondering, who here has actually caught a shiny Pokemon? (Discounting that guaranteed red Gyarados.) I had several hundred hours in Pearl, and I never saw a single one. Same story with Black at about 50 hours. Hoping I have better luck this time around.

I hate having to switch out pokémon at a pokémon center just for the HM use. I usually only realize I have to do it when I hit a dead end as far as getting around the map(Cut, Surf, Strength, etc etc).
As far as shiny pokémon go, I've run into one or two in my past as a kid before I knew what shinies were, and beat them or ran from them since I didn't know what they were.
After realizing what shinies were, I've received most of mine through trades, though I did catch my very own shiny Rhyhorn in Platinum, which I evolved into a shiny Rhydon.
I just hope I never run into this situation.

Yeah, I wish they would remove HMs has part of combat. HMs should just add non-combat abilities, or pokemon should inherently just have them and you need to unlock them with Gym badges.
Again, another weird, annoying, grindy, restrictive mechanic a Western developer would have gotten rid of a long time ago.

Yeah, I don't know why they still have them in as moves. They take up space for better attacks AND can't be removed unless you find the remover person.

Decided to go with Fennekin. Will choose Squirtle as the second starter. I never really use grass pokemon anyway so I'm not really bothered by it

I just joked on my facebook about having Bidoof do everything(HM slave), then got hit with a brick to the face-
Bidoof is Ramirez.
