I was damn afraid I'd kill it. I only had my level 17 Ralts and the rest of my party were mid-60's so I just used Ralts confusion until it fainted and hypnosis with Malamar. First ultra ball too, I actually though there was a higher catch rate on shinies.

Yeah, I'd be terrified of beating the hell out of mine if I ran into one.

I didn't have a problem catching my shiny Rhyhorn back in Platinum because of its level.

I'm fortunate that this Sandslash came with a good Nature. Only adamant would have been better.

Lv 34 Braixen- Lax

My Braizen evolved into Delphox AND my Charmeleon evolved into Charizard in the battle with my rival over who has the rights to the Mega Ring. Before the fight, the Mega Evolution Guru mentions Charizard as a pokémon that can mega evolve, and then after the battle, right after the evolutions, goes, "So, you have a Charizard"

Any Y players here up for a trade? I'm wanting a Larvitar. If you don't have a Swirlix already I'm offering one, and it can come with the evolution trade item it needs if you want. I'd offer an Aron or something instead but I'm a long time from finishing the story yet.

If you don't get one until you catch a Aron I'd be up for that. I'm not interested in Swirlix.

I'm not sure I can catch a larviter, but i have a female pupitar and could try to breed it.
But I'd assume someone else with Y already has a Larviter, I'm not exactly rushing through the game ^^

And now I've been given a Lv 30 Lapras- Docile

I like how the game gives you HM Surf, and then in the off chance you don't have a pokémon that can use it yet, there's a guy who immediately offers you a Lapras so you don't have to carry the best HM around uselessly.

I used it on my Greninja, Surf is a powerful move in its own right too

I'm so proud of my girl.

Absol went through the entire Grass gym barring the gym leader, and even then she took out one of his pokémon before feinting. Decided that Charizard X would finish what she started.

Probably the first time I didn't go straight into a grass gym sending fire everywhere.

I didn't have anything to fight the Psychic Gym, so I powered through it with my Delphox, sending fire everywhere.

Heh the Psychic gym was pushover for me, Greninja, Malamar and Pangoro are all dark, so they never stood a chance.

Loved the design though.

It's also good that I train other Pokémon on the side, my main team is extremely vulnerable to fighting.
Some time after the Psychic gym a guy with that little fighter-superhero-flying pokemon thingy almost wrecked my whole team.

I've mostly caught Pokémon I happened upon that I knew were rarer. Like catching a plusle from a mostly-minun horde just to get it done. Later wonder traded it.

Also caught a tailow just because, which was also the only point I ever encountered them.
And Absol, I try to catch some of the Pokémon I think look cool. This would also be my rule with Scyter and Pinsir etc.

Then I've also made it a point to raise the Dragons, I only need to find a Deino and a Dratini to have all the smallest ones, then I'll breed them until I get one with a favorable nature and raise them.
The same for Aron and Larvitar. Too good not to raise

I'm only catching Aron eventually for Gravvy Wavvy. Gotta keep up my end of the bargain, plus I wouldn't use one anyway.

The only Pokémon I've made a point of raising yet that I haven't actually used to progress yet is my Glaceon. And seeing as the ice gym is the upcoming one I'm not suspecting to actually use it until the league
