I'd say I've got well over 200 hours of gameplay out of DA:O, so colour me impressed.

Forty-five. I was surprised, since they said up to 100 + hours of playtime.
Different playstyles will cause different playtimes.
Those who just like combat most likely skip reading/listening to most things=less playtime
Those who love to get fully into the world wil ldevour everything they can=more playtime
Expereinced players.
New players.
Etc etc etc
Thats why l never judge a game by rumored playtime.

What surprised me was that my most recent playthrough only took 25:22. I was trying to get Easily Sidetracked and Mercenary, and therefore did more sidequests than usual (I didn't have the patience to get the achievement). On top of this, I decided to switch the difficulty to nightmare. I suppose using somewhat overpowered weapons from the Winter Forge and cheating to heal myself and sometimes change my class will speed things up a bit.

I too stopped playing it a week ago, and have played since it shipped 10/23/09. I can say I put in 12+ hrs a day 5 days a week since then. I had to explore every possable outcome, all the classes, all the origins, see what would happen with the different dialogs that i had a hard time saying. I have 600+ hrs in...... I must go outside now and see if the world is still there....*Squints from the bright light*
LOLl! This was very nearly my experience. Thank goodness my bill pay is automated and I have a washing machine at home. I really need to go grocery shopping, I'm getting tired of tuna sandwiches...

Also, lower difficulties will be much faster. Disabling plot helpers slows down the game quite a bit (exhaustive searches of the Deep Roads take a lot longer than just travelling to a point on the map). Some people also like to go back to previously visited areas to open unopened chests and look for new quests that may have popped up (again, without plot helpers this involves a lot of extra conversations).Viglin wrote...

I'm nearly 100 hours into my first playthrough and I'm not particularly close to being done.

Anyway, first playthrough was 57 hours and I missed a lot of stuff.
Second playthrough was 50 hours and I did dang near everything.
Third playthrough was 43 hours and I did EVERYTHING except crows quests and rogue specific quests in Denerim.
And all that time is including my pause breaks (almost every hour) to have a smoke, and a couple times where I left it paused for an hour or so for dinner/cleaning/distraction related things.
