Well he's angry with Shepard in general in that scene, not just to female Shepard. And the bloody nose is optional. The paragon interrupt makes her block that punch and makes her end the fight without getting hit in the face.

Oh I see so it's not just with female Shepard then? I haven't play my male Shepard yet trying to get my girls in first.

He's popular because of those calibrations. Have you seen the Normandy fire. Amazing. He's a calibrating god.

All that calibrating is for nothing in ME3 since the Thannix Cannon is never used.

Nvm then. I suppose he appeals more to younger audiences? I mainly use him because of his skills and use of assault & sniper rifles. An from time to time he says some jokes.

The all-around turian bad boy

Ugh the more I learn about ME4 the more I know I'm going to miss Garrus come the next game. There better be a squadmate/male LI that is as interesting, personable, and bad*** as him. If there's going to be turian squadmate in ME4 (and there better be lol) then he's got huuuge shoes to fill. And im sure Bioware will deliver. Surely they know by now he's arguably the most popular male squad mate and love interest soo they're going to have to fill that void in the next game.

I recall it was used once or twice during the final assault over earth.

As I recall it fires the same way it did when attacking the collector ship without the Thannix Cannon upgrade in ME2

When it takes out that oculus, it looks very much like the way the thanix cannon did in the suicide mission.

Thanix or no thanix, he's there to keep your guns in tip-top shape, like Tali in engineering, and Steve with his precious shuttle.

If you don't have the Thannix Cannon upgrade, what guns is he keeping in tip-top shape? All the weapons are down in the cargo hold where Steve and James are.

Upgrade or no upgrade, the Normandy has a main battery room for a reason. It's not like it's empty.

I get he's so popular because he's been with you from the beginning, and Tali too. I always tend to think of Liara as my Shep's best friend, because she did after all save my body from the Collectors.

As far as combat goes, I stopped bringing him along on missions because I found that he died on me very quickly. I feel he's much stronger in ME3.

He was alright in Mass Effect 2. He is not my favorite squadmate, but he still is okay.

He's popular because he's built to be your bestest buddy.

ORIGINAL POST:  (snip) -- discussion below ;

416Leafer,

Interesting post.  You mention Garrus as  “most popular”  &  Mordin to you as “most interesting”.  The MEU designers likely had an in-depth discussion about the contrast of characters (especially in ME2).  No other game I've played has so many characters -- with some nuts.   One quote on the web I found went like this:

Though Wrex is THE krogan, Grunt is the most loveable

Likewise, Mordin may be the most interesting [scientist] of the bunch, I consider Garrus the most loveable guy (though my sweetheart <3 has always been Kelly).

There are some awesome thoughts on this thread already which I relate to (I don’t see the non-contributors, gripers, nit-pickers, & complainers since they are already on my ignore list).   There are those here that point out Garrus’ development and his noble character – firm, sometimes flexible, and with enough experience that he’s not naive.   I like that he speaks a thug’s language back to them (Harkin & the butcher doctor).

Let me ask you this question:  If you were marooned on an island for a month (assuming ample provisions and no way to get off) – then who would you choose to be with?   Garrus or Mordin?  Reversing the question – which of the two do you think would enjoy your company?

Another question: During election time -- do the candidate’s promoters brag on how intellectual the candidate is – or how LIKEABLE they come across?   When he took Shep up on the presidium for target practice, how many of us really gave a hoot about who was the most ACCURATE shot?

It was about doing something that “bros” do together and  the dialogue: “we’ve been thru lots together – saving each others asses numerous times” (tomorrow we may die).   Imagine doing that with Mordin, who is certainly more intellectually “interesting”.   We humans in fact are emotional creatures – something EDI & other synthetics are intrigued about.   Garrus hits the mark.

Someone said “unless you’ve raised & loved a pet, part of your soul remains unawakened”.  Garrus is the bro you can always talk to that will THINK about what you said & give you a heart answer.

He's awesome, the only squad-mate to be in all 3 games from beginning to end, he's Shepard's best bud.

There is NO Shepard Without Vakarian. The two are like Jordan and Pippen or Richards and Jagger. They're the MEU version of the glimmer twins.

There is A Shepard without Vakarian. Mine. She doesn't consider him her bro/bud or whatever else you want to call him. She just considers him as someone who helped her do this and that just like any of the other squadmates

Then your Shepard sucks. Sorry, it must be said.
