I missed this conversation between EDI and engineer Adams on my 3 playthroughs. I'm glad there is some reasoning behind this.

HUMANS ARE DUST IN THE STELLAR WIND.

this fools the oldest reaper

this does not fool occuli (SM opening)

huh?

Also, if normandy could appear as a reaper in the first place, why even run to the beam? You could land behind the destroyer, pretend to be a reaper, drop off a group, then leave.

Or there is the great mechanic where normandy uses a mass effect corridor to 'teleport' to the beam in 5 seconds to pick up sheps injured squadmates. Why not use that technology to teleport into the citadel? Then there is the issue of how the rest of shepards crew got on the Normandy....

it just goes on and on and on...

I never had that conversation with her and I made sure to talk to everyone. o.O (Didn't help that I kept getting stuck in the cockpit constantly thanks to ME3's beautiful glitches gaaah)

Before EC Lot's of fans were complaining about following things:

1. How squad mates from beam run made it to Normandy?
2. Why Joker is a coward.
3. There wasn't enough closure with characters.

BW was listening and they responded. What comes to how they decided to answer to the outcry of fans, well, some you win, some you lose.

Being at point blank range with a reaper and having your cargo bay open with soldiers standing at the ramp shooting = stealth systems disengaged.  Otherwise they would stop chasing you on the galaxy map once EDI said her greeting.

Once detected to not be a reaper, THATS when you have issues.  The normandy should have been detected.  The entire landing scene is ridiculous.  However its the only way they could possibly have made any sense as to how the team got on board.  They didnt want to have to rewrite anything to make any sense and so just gave us that BS.

Im still waiting for a valid reason as to why harby didnt fire on the Normandy.

You do realize in this case there is no reason for Hammer force. No reason at all. Just land Normandy near the beam.

Harby was probably wondering where those two other capital reaperships were. One moment they are right behind him descending down too earth too protect the beam the next.....poof......they are gone!Image IPB

Why worry about it?

Good find! I got that on one of my play-throughs (seems familiar anyway), but didn't recognize its implications.

It seems kinda silly that the Normandy would right in front of Harby and not get shot - maybe Harby thought the Normandy was under Reaper control or was indoctrinated or something.

It's either bad shoehorned writing or a verification of a certain theory which shall remain unnamed.

I call that "A Hobbit"  nowadays. If Bilbo and co stayed on the big flying birds in the new Hobbit movie there would be no reason too hike all the way too Eredor and therefor no 2e or 3e movie would be necessary. So too prevent that.....the birds just drop them off halfway so there's content for more movies!

Ofcourse there was a SA cannon active aswell as a reaper destroyer. So technically it's probably just a half "Hobbit".

The Normandy is protected by plot armor.

It almost feels like Harby was having too much fun firing on the ground troops to even realize that the Normandy was even there, though I realize this isn't the case.

I DID have another theory, but, like always, I forgot it before I could type it out because something distracted me. Hopefully I remember it later on...

It was strange that he also left Shepard's body there after wanting to capture it so badly in ME2.The beam in London was being guarded by a Destroyer and the way to it by a bunch of Reaper forces and when the Destroyer is taken down, several Reaper Capital ships rush to the beam to defend it but then they just leave it unprotected allowing Shepard and Anderson to go through it. Odd.

I figured that the catalyst just wanted to 'make new friends'.. or really just talk a little shop with the resident defender of all things organic. Shep does have to talk with the catalyst to get the ball rolling on the crucible vs harvest times ahead. So it would be kind of silly to just destroy Shep and call it chaos. Shep gets knocked out and ends up there with the cat to figure out who's choice is the correct one for all concerned, the body is of less importance than the message it carries, in any event.

More about symbolism/communication than physical subjectives.Image IPB

I think the reason he didn't try to get Shepard's body at that time was because it was pointless once they fired the beam. Unless you mean capturing it before he went into the Citadel?

Reapers are able to identify the Normandy as a hostile vessel, proof is on the galaxy map, they chase you down as soon as they find you. I think that Harbinger does not shoot the Normandy because that could accidentally kill Shepard.

But they don't go after you until you use the scanner a bunch of times. Probably because using the scanner means you have to take down your stealth mode, which makes the Normandy succeptible to being identified as an enemy vessle.

It would seem strange tho, at that range the reapership couldn't actually just line of sight the Normandy and go at it? Didn't Shep talk to one they knocked down and it had an 'eye' type of apperatus?

It is one of the funniest(and silliest) scenes in the game. The only way that would've made sense is to have Harbinger firing on the Normandy causing it to blow up. This would happen with low ems. With high ems just have femshep move your squadmates to cover, then have one of the squadmates call for extraction when Harbinger leaves

He was in love with EDI but didn't want to hurt shep.

Torn between the man he obsessed over and the fembot of his dreams...

Harbinger is truly a deep and brillantly written character
