Many moons ago, I remember seeing a module that had a very convincing field of corn, pumpkins, and perhaps beans - aka the Three Sisters.  I don't know if they were placeables (hopefully) or a tile, or what mod they were in.  Does that ring a bell for anyone?

If it's a tile, than are there some nice pumpkin and corn-like placeables out there?  My mid autumn fields could sure use a sprucing up, beyond the DOA Ploughed Fields tile.

The pumpkins and the corn are placeables, but I've never seen beans, so they may also have been tiles.
The corn placeables are from NWN2, though there may be others as well. The pumpkins could be in the community placeable pack. There are also fields of pumpkin tiles in Lord of Worm's seasonal forest.

Project Q has updated versions of the DOA fields that include the original tiles, fenced tiles, and corn fields. There are also placeable pumpkins and corn. Not sure where the beans might be from.

There is the "Midgard Rural" tileset by Big Bene, it includes a number of crops together with ploughed fields. Sadly this tileset has not been updated since April 2009 and is described as "still at a stage of developing".  If he has stopped working on this it would be a worthy project for completion by someone... er, please.

Thanks everyone. The one I remembered was from Worms Mirkwood. I've now located enough placeables to make it work. I'd followed the Midgard Rural when it was being worked on, the vineyard looked cool - the pic anyway -- but the wheat field was a framerate killer.

I knew I had seen those pumpkins in one of Lord of Worm's tilesets.
I once thought about making wheat fields with dangly meshes and a few poppies (for which I have textures) and corn flowers (for which I don't have textures yet), but didn't even start when I noticed that a tile with about eight dangly mesh bushes made the frame rate drop. I don't think it is possible to make wheat fields that way, at least not ones that work properly in game. Maybe it would work with only a few meshes being dangly meshes.

I've been asked if I could add a field terrain which also works with hills to the Medieval City tileset, but the only new terrain I'll add to that will be the castle terrain. I will however add it to the Medieval Rural tileset after I've made the marsh terrain. It makes more sense there anyway because that tileset has the hills that are only half as high as the ones in the city tileset.

I can sympathize with people wanting everything at the fingertips when building external areas. I find that I've used Complete Rural/City http://nwvault.ign.c....Detail&id=7494 for most of my external areas because for that reason. However, any new major city areas will be with your Medieval City. It's just second to none.

I have some dried corn field tiles I made from DOA's Ploughed Fields + the corm stalks from LotW's 1x1 pumpkin/corn fields. They are tiles added to the ploughed fields terrain.

Here's a toolset screenshot of them. If you are interested in using them, let me know and I will upload them and provide a link.

I also have a set of revised cabbage tiles modified from Big Bene's Midgard Rural. I changed the field's dirt/grass perimeter transition to fit better with DOA's tiles and to have the same grass texture scale as the existing NWN rural grass. I also removed all the no-walk areas that were around every cabbage, as that was a pathing nightmare I thought. You are welcome to use these tiles too, if you want. Just let me know.

Oseryn, if they were placeables corn stalks (minus the corn), I'd love to use them. Sadly, I've never delved into anything but re-skinning a few placeables, creating inventory icons, and scripting, so importing a tile would probably have a steep learning curve for me. The corn stalks from Midgard's Rural were okay from afar, but the ears were more like corn textured 2x2s attached to stalks. *g* I know, keep those polygon counts down, but square corn was a leap too far for me.

I understand and it sounds like you have a solution you can work with - so good deal!

The corn fiefd tiles I use as seen in the screenshot above, are just stalks - no corn ears on them. They are harvested fields. I've never seen the Midgard Rural corn you mention - just his cabbages and wheat, but your description of square corn ears isn't one to make me want to search it out :)
