Now before I post keep in mind that I know absolutely nothing about designing video games so I have no idea if this is something that would already be set in stone or being worked on or what have you.
That being said- I just started playing ME2 and, so far, I really like the way the auto save works. aFor someone, like me. who chronically forgets to save her game on missions it is a life saver. It seems to auto save very frequently and I ike the option of restarting a mission from the beginning if I die or just going back to the last door I opened.
Therefore I would really enjoy it, personally, if DA3 had a similar autosave that didn't just save before the big bosses, but rather before each wave of bad guys, or when you open a door or whatever the most practical autosave trigger might be.
Thanks!

Dragon age 2 saved at nearly each new aera and most important fights. That seems reasonable.

You know, speaking of auto-saves. I wish the whole game was run with auto-saves. Because it would prevent the decission hopping. I kinda like that. Make decission and stick with it.

Well then stick with your decisions. All your suggestion would do is make it suck for everyone else. And besides, what if I pressed the wrong button? Oops! I killed Alistair, my love interest who I was going to rule Ferelden with. I guess it's back to the Character Creator...

I think DA2 does do some auto-saving after major conversations. I tried to redo a convo and realized I'd have to replay a pretty large section to get there, so I left it alone. Not that I'm a huge decision hopper (though I will admit to a reload when I discovered that Alistair *really* doesn't like it if you use Isolde for blood magic at Redcliffe). I make my decision in the first run through, but sometimes I just like to see the alternative content.

Meh, I bet people would willingly replay an hour or whatever the last autosave was, depending on the decision.Arppis wrote...

I reloaded to grab an errant crafting resource in DA2 - redid an hour of playtime (and a tough fight). So yeah.

I don't mind the Autosave, I just wish there was more than one.
DA2 had a save for the beginning of the game, the beginning of each new Act, and then an Autosave for every event that triggered an Autosave.
I'd rather see an Autosave for the beginning of each Act, and then my three most recent Autosaves. Sometimes, you don't realize you need to go back until you've passed one or two other triggers. I'd like that kind of safety net.
Of course, this could be avoided if I just saved the game myself, I suppose, but without an easy naming convention for my save files and having to rely on save date/time alone, it is confusing to have more than one or two saves at once for most games.
