Well, I don't believe the author actually works for IGN. Looks like a personal blog.

At least Bioware let us.. you know... decide what we wanted. Most people consider all the options bad, but it's better than showing 2 options and saying "but forget about that one, you are chosing this"

I'll take pain over insult my friend...but that is me

or you know...you could just produce a good bittersweet ending like Halo 4 (even tho the climatic battle was lacking)

I like this line:

"I think there is a very thin line that needs to be walked between what a player deserves for their devotion, and what the main character deserves for their actions. In most cases it’s the same thing, but not always."

It's an elegant way of discussing the balance between artistic vision and player expectations.

The guy on ign writes about "rewards". An end isn't supposed to be a reward for those who get there. This arguement about the hundreds of hours invested in the game, only to get a reward in the end, is pure bull****. The reward I get from the hours I've played is the hundreds of things I've seen and done, not a stupid price in the end.
That guy on ign is delusional. Talking about giving every single person the ending they want just because it's an rpg. Yeah, there's no problem in doing that.

Because you're not making a choice in that game. Assassin's Creed never had player choice to my knowledge, the game is not saying to make a choice. It's asking the character Desmond, to make a choice.

Yes, Desmond is Desmond(Action alike), I am Shepard, i don't just go along beacuse i decided to do everything i have done, in a ****ing RPG you can not give me a 3 choices that are the same for everyone else because youw ant the casual to like it

One day you'll understand that not everything you dislike is bad or wrong. You and the 18 year-old **** who's blogging on IGN.

I haven't looked at the link in detail yet, but judging by your reactions I'm not surprised. When DA2 came out, Ign said, "Every modification to the gameplay and structure of Dragon Age II is a clear improvement over the previous game." A few months later when it became even more unpopular, they wrote an article about why it was such a disappointment.

IGN is the Pitch Fork of gaming. They only care about whats the trendy thing at the time, even if it means they'll be ripping it a few months later. Then they move onto something else.

I'm not a fan of AC3's ending but the original ME3 endings were THE ****tiest ending of a trilogy that I've seen in my gaming life. I don't think any game will ever come close. AC3's ending, bad as it was,was nowhere THAT bad.

I disagree; AC3 never had the option to choose your own path and ultimately is at the very least avg compared to the ME3 endings.

I don't think this is an IGN employee, but I'll hop in anyway. It was hilarious when Moriarty claimed no one in IGN wanted to diss the ending from a fans' perspective, and then when the EC was announced suddenly there is a podcast with 2 IGN writers trashing all the plotholes/problems in the OEs.

The ending should have been based off the choices the character has made throughs the games, like stated on IGN. I would have liked it much better if my Shepard survived, retired with his LI, and finally got to rest. Besides the ending though, Bioware did a pretty great job with the game, IMO.

depends on your expectations or why you bought into the franchise
