@Hector Olivero phatoms with volus are easy to take down, for me i find draagons the new annoying cerberus enemy, they spam the leash ALOT......its crazy >___<

@Tyrannus00, lore is important for single player since its the glue that keeps the whole story, but for multiplayer to be balanced,live longer and stay fresh , lore fanaticism can be a MP killer, yes its good not go crazy and such but if theres something even if only mentioned once, then let do it. take as example for years we all believed protheans are dead, then dlc proved they don't. one is alive. so in a whole galaxy is it too much to believe that perhaps theres more protheans alive living under deep secrecy? i say this because i would love protheans for mp

How do you know you're hated?

Are you laughed at and ridiculed over the mic every game? Do you get hate-mail through console players? Are you kicked from lobbies (somehow knowingly for just being a volus?)

Post is weird. I'd call it a case of insecurity, because 90% of volus players I'ved teamed up with have not disappointed. They're more defensive, less reckless players usually, and stick to cover and teammates.

@Vinlandhammer THOSE DAM DRAGOONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For those I just pull the Combat drone one them and stagger them not to mention that my Decoy also stuns (Even though they ignore decoy they still get stunned) just enough for me to kill them but... They DO hurt !

Volus Sentinel is an awesome kit that can be played very aggressively. And rightly specced and equipped Vanguard can even tank.

how many threads here on BSN when they're released with bashing. threats to kick who play as. and if i had a dollar for each time i see guys getting kick on lobbies just for it then i could buy another console. besides is not just BSN. its rather easy to see hate and mock.  sorry but your reply is weird <_<

People who think the Volus are useless are biased because up until this point BioWARE has made no indication that they can have infantry units, and because people think BioWARE just added them in as a joke.

I for one can honestly say i've never been outscored by another player while playing my Volus Adept/VanGOD.

I've got the Adept, Engineer and Mercenary. Just got the Protector to acquire. Still haven't found a decent build as yet for the three I have.

I try not to use the shields if I can help it due to becoming reliant on them. Equally the mines I feel aren't effective enough.

I do like to play how many roles I can perform in a wave without getting taken down lol (joke)

@ Vinlandhammer People may laugh @ my Volus when I join a random lobby but they are quickly silenced when my "Best of the Best" banner shows up and they see I have a nice little X next to any weapon I choose (Except those darn promotionals weapons)

I only have the Volus Engineer at the moment and I avoid specing out the Shield Boost beyond grade 3. I focus more on getting the Fitness and Training balanced with the Recon Mine and Prox. Mine. I tend to stick to the back of a pug and make sure we aren't outflanked. It's a conservative character class that when used correctly is one of the best support characters in multi. I have no idea about the Van or the Merc, but I would think the Van would be just as dangerous as any Vanguard is spec'd properly. Merc, no idea.

I like the volus, they seem to die at a slightly higher rate than the other races but they're great in a boss fight. I'm atrocious at playing them though. I'd never kick someone just for the character they chose, if they had no gear on gold maybe.

Usually when I play one, I end up getting the maps with little hard cover and a lot of soft cover that I cant hide behind or blocks my shots. It is quite irritating to be on a hack and the only thing I can do is spam shields because I cant hide like everyone else and even then I will go down and have to be ressed.

Sometimes I wish we had friendly fire or could do melee damage to our team mates. I would use krogan heavy melee to knock those little fat asses off of the maps.

Would be funny if they did just imagine a volus dancing or rolling around a krogan shooting it in the ass while the krogan is trying to melee it! (Cloak, Decoy, Drone, Shoot = ROFL KROGANDOWN!HELP!)

I played a Volus Merc with a Locust (yes, a locust) all weekend and loved it. It took some getting used to, but after awhile i was trolling all the enemies. It took some consumables, but i managed to do some damage. Mostly i was just support, which i like.

I can't bring myself to use the biotic volus. The engineer with my Scorpion X is a death dealer, but my Merc build is no less fun. I only equip pistols or SMGs too. I'm not going to strap a Claymore or Widow on a Volus, sorry.

Its true the Decoy and Drone are weak, but they are helpful in the right circumstances. Anything with a gun gets a drone, and i setup the decoy in chokepoints or strategic locations. I use the Locust because its description fits a Volus Merc perfectly. Modded ammo is a must if you actually want to kill things though, lol.

I play my Mercenary Volus with a Particle Riffle X or a Talon X depending on map but I have even used a Typhoon X and it takes down bosses on gold and plat fairly well (Although you can use any gun you like with it just as long as its not TOOO heavy the Typhoon is borderline heavy but if you can deal with the cooldowns you should try it!). But I would NEVER call decoy and drone weak. Especially when a decoy can tank 3 Phantoms and a few other mobs like hunters at the same time on platinum while the drone stuns them like crazzy and explodes in their face when destroyed.

Also beleive it or not... The Drone can tank Primes and Atlases for a short time or grab its attention for a brief second enough to take cover or counter them. The Decoy can tank an atlas or prime depending if you are far enough from it or not. Although Banshees and Brutes Dragoons etc ignore them.

I should make like a volus guide or something I think more people would apreciate them.

OP, you've forgotten the heavy melee that can block anything (dragon smash attack, atlas' missile, praetorian ray of doom)
