If you are not being carried 4th is perfectly fine.

Some players put too much emphasis on the scoreboard. If you're having fun, contributing some sort of role to the team, then you're good in my book.

the volus played support role healed us revived us and took care of most the device assignments and pick up assingments.
So this caused him to have less kills but during extraction and boss kills he was right there, but son as we get in the lobby the other two players wanted to kick him, I thought it was wild he healed us revived us and so forth, he didn't care about kills....why are ppl such as***les?
I have been doing a few gold matches with a volus. Mostly playing support. Getting gold assist medals, and silver reviving medals. I am always on the bottom of the score board. I am also always reviving team mates, doing or supporting objectives and using my medigel transmitter when I get downed next to somebody I am trying to save. Of course I am shooting the crap out of everything but I get far less kills and a far lower score. I am just wondering if people hate what I am doing, and feel I am a leech or not.
I find it awesome when I have a Volus buddy in a match, and totally rage should anything take him down. I think most players appreciate the support.

I'm trying to find the SS I have of the glacier collector's scoreboard...
Public game, 3 Turian Ghost infiltrators with harriers, I was playing volus vanguard w/ claymore.
The TGI in 4th place got only 30k out of 11 waves.
If you come in 4th, 120k behind a volus vanguard with claymore, then yes, it matters that you came in 4th; but only because you really shouldn't be playing gold if 30k from TGI+harrier is all you can manage.
At least one of the TGIs should have outscored me, but not even the host could with a measly 65k.
The scoreboard is sometimes a good indication that you are in over your head...
I can handle my own, and with the right set ups, carry bad players on Gold (as in doubling the score of the #2 guy), but based on what I know about you from the videos, I'm not sure I'd outscore you in that situation. Some of you guys are just really good.

Realistically if everyone is fairly close to each other, I don't care.

It's all relative.
If it's Bronze, I'm last and my score is < 20,000, my head hangs in shame, not because I'm last, but because that score is inexcusable.
If it's Gold, I'm last and my score is > 100,000 - I really could not care.
I play for fun, relaxation and a chance to escape the worries of the world. I'll let someone else grief on what their rank was in a game.

But seriously it doesn't matter as long as you get paid in the end.

Not vocally upset at all. There's no sense in whining or making excuses. But the very next match I'm picking one of my best kits to make certain I won't be last again.
I'mm too competitive to come in fourth twice in one day.

If I ever did it would never be for lack of skill but just not being able to find enemies to kill fast enough.
Sometimes people may know different maps and spawn points and be able to score more. Doesn't mean they are a better ME3 player than you. People put too much thought into score, which more often than not leads to rambo style play to get more points, which leads to death sometimes, and leads to bad team playerness...

there are classes which naturally will score higher (vanguards, grenade spammers, etc.)
also, there are missile kills which tilt the score balance towards the lucky shooter (spam nukers, which is fine)

Support classes are likely to get 4th a lot, but they help contribute a LOT (objectives, ammo, shields, buffs, debuffs, etc).
For example, I respecced my infiltrator to be all about duration on cloak, with sab maxed out. Now, I'm great for taking out turrets, geths, and getting those "hack the 4 spots" objectives, and going in and rezzing people while cloaked, but i'll get a low score because I don't do much damage. But what I DO does make it a lot easier for everyone else.
