It would be amazingly glorious. Sadly, only a handful of people would think so.

I've always preferred bowmen over everything else in every rpg/tactical rpg ever. Even in Shining Force, your first archer, Hans, who is pretty much dead weight in the later chapters, never left my active party.

If you can choose your party, you'd better believe I'd have at least one sniper in it.

And a bow lord? Shut up and take my money.

I wish Taguels and Manakete could promote without going to another base class

i just wish they learned skills at the same rate as other classes; by the time they hit max level (30) they only have 2 skills. Which just doesn't cut the butter in Lethality Emblem: Galeforcening

More than ever before, Frederick will be your friend. His pair up bonuses got my weaker units, everyone not named "Frederick", through some tough fights so they could level up enough to fend for themselves.

Hey, wouldn't Owain romancing Lucina still be incest since they're cousins?
Fire Emblem, y u promoting incest?

They don't "romance". If you get them to S, they show up as "companions" rather than husband and wife. They ended up together in my first run as there were no children characters left for Lucina, Morgan was her brother

In the Japanese version, I believe she and Owain do marry, but the conversation we get is not a declaration of romantic love. That's one localization change I approve of.

Yeah, Reezy's right, Frederick's your friend. His body is ready. What's chapter 3, the longfort? If it is, resist the urge to split up your party and have them move in one slow blob up one of the stairways, with Freddy in front. The enemies will come up behind you as well, but if everyone's together you have a better chance than with a few stragglers off on their own.

I'm still collecting conversations. I remember wishing they'd made it possible to support legacy characters as well - seriously, that would have made the game perfect, in my eyes - but as it stands, I've still got a loooooong way to go. There's TONS of conversations. Still, though, I hate seeing those greyed-out units on the support screen. Why won't you talk to me, Soren? TELL ME HOW THE BATTLE WENT.

I've decided to get some use out of the stupid Hubba Tester, I'm going to let it decide which characters marry in my game. So far the only love match is Henry and Gregor, thanks to a slip of my thumb on the analog stick.

EETS GREGOR TIME.

^ I just picked up Henry a few chapters ago (60 hours in and still haven't beating the game once yet). He's a funny guy, haven't found much of a use for him since Miriel is already such an awesome Dark Mage for me. His Ruin tome was cool enough though, good critical percentage on a few different enemies.

Well, Henry's one of the few who has access to barbarian/berserker, if he's just sitting around being redundant. And Berserker Henry seems like a natural progression for him. I had Morgan as one in my last game, simply because I had one of everything else, and he was pretty good. Possibly that was because of his ridiculous stats, but still...

Despoil was a good skill until the golden gaffe rendered it obsolete.

I STILL haven't actually used a trickster. I hate the way Anna holds her sword, If it was a dagger, fine. But it's a big honkin' thing. I'm guessing that's the default trickster animation? It's a rather feminine stance, so I'm not sure.

Actually that is the animation for all female thieves and Olivia(as a dancer).

I would avoid Trickster, Assassin beats them out in Speed and Skill, and unlike other Magic/Combat classes, the skills are not very useful.

So I'm doing playthrough 2 on Lunatic(Lunatic + is just insane), and made a little chart of pairings to maximize the potential of children characters.

I'm going with....

Chrom+Olivia
Sully+Kellam
Sumia+Gaius
Mirel+Virion
Nowi+Vaike
Cherche+Donnel
Lissa+Lon'qu
Cordelia+Stahl
Panne+Gregor
Tharja+Henry
Maribelle+Ricken
Avatar(Speed+, Defence-)+Lucina

Look good?

Yeah, looks good. I almost said maybe not Tharja/Henry as their classes seemed to overlap... until I looked it up. They work quite well. I'd never have guessed Tharja could become a knight.

Also lolwut at Libra having dark mage available as a class. I'm totally making him one to break his brain. Too bad his classes overlap on their own, I noticed he was left out of your list, and I don't blame you. 3 bases and 4 masters? Ick. Even Donnel and Olivia have 4 master classes, and one of their base classes doesn't have a promotion.

How does Chrom+Olivia even work? You can't get S support before they get married, do the conversations reflect this?

Yeah, the DarkKnight's life stealer is amazing. Combined with Tomebreaker, well AWESOMES!!!!!!

I'm leaving out prepromotes, because they don't have as high of stats as the other characters. Ricken as a sage beat out Libra in every stat in my last playthrough.

Make sure that Sully, Sumia, and Maribelle are married before Chapter 11(or keep them away from Chrom till then). Pair Chrom up with Olivia and have him give her his seed of trust, kill some foes, then have Olivia dance for Chrom a few times. Then boom, Chrom gets married and has a kid.

BTW, avoid using change seals on Taguel, Manakete, Olivia, and Donnel at level 30 to change in to a second tier class. They will gain XP at an extremely low rate. It is better to just class change at 11 into a base class.

Does anyone give their various units personalities beyond what their conversations and bios state?
Lissa has become a violent maniac with axes after promoting her to War-cleric (with one character shouting out "who the F--- gave her an axe!" which sorta explains her son. She also married Henry, which further explains her son
My tactician Kell has an unhealthy obsession with Taguel, he also tried to get Merribell killed in the chapter after the Exalt's death because she insulted him once
Donnel uses nonsensical psuedo country phrases every few sentences, or even back to back.
Chrom doesn't care about his son Brady that much (at all) and let him die along with one of the expendable cards. Also refers to villagers besides Donnel as peasants and leaves them to die for the sake of expediency.
Gregor says psuedo russian phrases sometimes, but mostly everyone calls him a huge pedophile especially after he marries Nowi
Fredrick is just plain useless

..I've got nothing for the others though, lol

Edit 2: forgot this one:

I'm building Morgan and Owain's support up and I found the cooking conversation cute, especially since her father can't cook, though since Morgan's a taguel, maybe all Owain had to do was make some carrot dish, certainly worked on Panne
The pedo-ist gregor conversation I have seen yet is Nah asking Gregor if he married Nowi because he got her pregnant.

Gregor's rampant pedophilia aside, is anyone else somewhat let down by the lack of light magic in this game and getting rid of the magic triangle? Maybe it happened in one of the Radiant games I didn't play but it was shocking when I noticed it.

I thought I was tripping when I noticed ithe magic triangle was gone. I put it in the back of my mind afterwards. I'm glad someone else noticed it. Very sad that it (and light magic) is absent from the game.
