anyways, still stuck at ch. 3. I guess the only real method of winning now is grinding...Is that good or bad? Cant tell if its game mechanic or if I just suck.
Anyone know some good class progressions for the characters? And how do u know what pair is best to get to S-Rank? I dont get the metagame very much...
also my Avatar is a tactician with +Res -Luck. What can he good for? And what will Morgan look like?
And as for the Dark Mage. The best perks Ive seen are Lifetaker, Vengeance, and Nosferatu. You pretty much become a vampire bloodmage that deals more damage the more hurt u r.

No idea why they scrapped the magic triangle. Or the fact that wyverns should be weak to lightning.

Are you using pair-up? You maybe could get away with not using it on normal, but it makes hard so much easier. Lunatic, you have to pair up, there's no way around it.
You could do any number of things, you could just get two characters with skills you want a child to inherit (as I did my first playthrough, worked well) OR you could go more in depth and look at all the available classes two characters have, and which their kids will get. The more classes that don't overlap, the more choices you'll have. You could also think ahead - for example, Kjelle is a knight, so you could get one of her parents to learn tomebreaker to give her a little advantage against her weakness. Everything works, though. I've never seen a sub-par child character. Even Inigo on my last playthrough, the spawn of barely-used Olivia and Vaike, inheriting luck+4 and ....whatever garbage Vaike had, ended up a powerhouse. And how do u know what pair is best to get to S-Rank?
I'd continue but I've gotta eat breakfast.
Mmm, pancakes.
the +/- stat really doesn't change a whole lot in the long run. My endgame avatar, who had +mag -res, still ended with higher res than most characters, aside from sages and ridiculous Severa. If you feel the - stat is hampering you, there's always stat boost items everywhere.also my Avatar is a tactician with +Res -Luck. What can he good for? And what will Morgan look like?
Morgan's gender is the opposite of your avatar's, and his/her hair color reflects that of his/her father. I'm quite sure appearance between genders is basically the same, as male Morgan is approaching Libra-level androgyny.

Not in my playthrough. I married Sully and her hair is red. Speaking of children, Lucina is just so much better than Chrom in battle.Shepenwepet wrote...

Lucina was inferior to Chrom in my first playthrough, I just never used her (compared to everyone else aside from Tiki and Anna, who I really never used.) This playthrough, she's still sitting on the sidelines while I collect all the first gen conversations. She'll have her moment when I start recruiting the kids.

Children being better than the parents is a bit of a trend in my playthrough. Morgan's a better Grandmaster than my avatar Dan and Kjelle is a better Paladin than Sully.

So... is Kellam not in that picture or...? Heh.
Fun fact: Kellam is actually on the box art, his face is obscured by Chrom's leg. I only noticed him there a few days ago. I felt terrible.
It had to be intentional.

Actually it does influence the stat caps a bit. You get +4 for the best, and +2 to 2 others, while you get -3 for worst and -1 for two others. HP and Luck effect more than one cap however.
IMO, Defense is good as a negative, it only effects Luck, and Resistance so you won't fall behind on speed or Strength/Magic. Luck and HP are awful choices for the negative, because they effect Magic, Strength, Defense, and Resistance.

Kellam's quote in the Golden Gaffe is the best thing ever. I also love his quote when you sell stuff from his inventory.

So my +mag -res almost cancels itself out, as they modify the same stats. I end up with +3 mag, +1 spd, -1 res.
I noticed the res growth rate was nasty, nowhere near Vaike's, but still nasty. Since I spent most of the game with a tactician/grandmaster, my res growth rate was 25 once I added the modifiers. After a quick glance at the classes, that still appears to be pretty average.

Pretty much everyone's resistance and defense growths are under 40%. For some reason, they are almost always lower than Speed, Strength, Magic, and Skill in every FE other than RD. RD also had it common to have a HP growth lower than 70%, which is incredibly rare in every other FE game.

Same here. If I wasn't trying to make as many of my people as capable as possible I'd send them off to fight every Risen with Lissa on healing duty.Sajuro wrote...

Dark Knigh Brady with Renewal(!), Lifetaker(!!!), and Paired with Great Knight Chrom (!!!!!) is just overkill. He has soooo many selt healing abilities but he hasn't taken a single point of damage ever since I class-changed him from War Monk.
I think I broke Hard mode; so I guess I'm going to have to do Lunatic next.

Yep, this. I beat the demo a bunch of times on lunatic, but I was still a little unsure of myself to play the whole game on that setting.
My first playthrough was on hard, and it felt just right, so I started up a second playthrough on hard.
It it now not "just right". I remember having trouble recruiting Libra in my first playthrough, he'd run into the enemy and pretty much commit suicide before I got to him, because I play super defensively.
This playthrough I had no trouble at all, my playstyle has changed a bit, I'm no longer a turtle. The battles that I'd previously had a bit of trouble with are now a breeze.
Bring it on, Lunatic. It just might be a while... I decided to write down which conversations I still needed so I wouldn't have to keep digging through the support log...
...it's daunting. And here I thought I had a lot done. Lissa's the closest one to being finished, and she's still got 20 conversations left.

Maybe this time around my Avatar will S-Rank one of the Avatar exclusive characters. My headcanon dictates that Lucina is Avatar's real Romance. But I dont feel comfortable having my digital persona marrying a teenager. :I
So my options are:
Flavia
Anna
Say'Ri
Did I miss anyone? Who'd be a good mommy for Morgan?
Also heres my final loadout for my Avatar:
Grandmaster (Im digging the Magic+Sword classes lately)
-Ignis
-Rally Spectrum (TASTE THE RAINBOW!!)
-Solidarity
-Lifetaker
-Counter

I'm guessing you never end up getting off that 5 hit combo. I think it's pretty useful. I changed Olivia into a Myrmidon just so she could get it when I used a master seal on her.Homebound wrote...

Regarding avatar exclusive S-supports, there are 2 endgame paralogue characters you're missing that will be released in upcoming weeks. Perhaps one's already out, I've never played Irreconcilable Paths, I forget which character it is. The downside to those paralogue characters is that you won't have Morgan until endgame, obviously.
...arg, I just realized that. You better be worth the wait, Priam.
