I miss having to actually plan out battles. Right now all I'm doing is surrounding Donnel with four female characters and waiting for the enemies to attack them.

I suppose that's still a plan, but...

Well, we get Bride next week, Bonds (or whatever it's called) sounds like an awesome skill.

I really would have loved a Rally Trust, or something. Like a reusable seed of trust. I wouldn't have spent more hours grinding for supports than that of my last entire playthrough if that existed.

I really wish the female version of Dread Fighter was something other than Bride, maybe if they had a Groom and the female had an actual badass class
I wouldn't be complaining if it was a variation of Blade Lord (actually I would be very happy)
But Bride?
You know what, that's probably gonna be Lissa's fourth class when she's done being a Falcon Knight
So Sumia has been paired with Fredrick and I will probably never use either one of them again
Nah is going to be forever alone in my pairings, but I don't like her so no big loss

I'm finally done the first generation supports. Gregor and Kellam are forever alone, as my avatar's holding out for stupid Priam (among others that'll show up earlier) for six effing weeks. If only the dude with the fantastic mustache was a spotpass character. I forget his name and it's killing me that I can't remember it.

I didn't bother really planning who'd end up with who, as all my units are massive now, I don't think it'll matter. The hubba tester failed its one job, so I just paired up people based on skills.

Next playthrough I'll have to finish up Sumia's and Chrom's supports. And probably use a male avatar.

So I finally got this game.

Image IPB

This completely describes the game after you give Donnel a Second Seal.

My pairings:

Chrom/Sumia (as compelled by the game pies)
MU/Tharja
Donnel/Panne
Lon'qu/Lissa
Edgeworth/Sully (which makes Kjelle look like Rei Ayanami incidentally)
Gaius/Maribelle (this worked out well)
Ricken/Nowi (because literally every other choice is horrendously creepy)
Vaike/Miriel
Henry/Olivia
Frederick/Cordelia
Gregor HEAVY WEAPONS GUY/Cherche
Owain von Habsburg/Luciana von Habsburg (WHOOPS)

I like how the Paralogues for the children are essentially the AI saying "f**k you".

Like Yarne's.

If I ever do Lunatic mode, forget this whole "true love" thing; I'm instigating a eugenics program dammit.

Yup. If most of your units aren't uber badasses then unpleasant experiences (like death) are incoming.

The problem was how the game threw about twenty generals and twenty more mage knights at you, and they have absurd accuracy.

Oh and I had Kellam die on me. The one and only time I used him too. lol

In my game he's still on par with my best units, but not better. Also, he's a hero, but won't ditch the stupid pot. His map sprite is sans pot, but he still wears it in battle.

My pairings:

Chrom/Sumia (as compelled by the game pies)

Yeah, my avatar put a stop to that in my first playthrough. I bet Sumia was pissed.

Lon'qu/Lissa

I think those were her best support conversations. She ended up with Henry the Human Pillow in my latest playthrough, though.

Ricken/Nowi (because literally every other choice is horrendously creepy)

I didn't have much of an issue with Henry's support with her, mainly because I'm not quite sure how old he is. But everyone else? Yeah, ew. Lon'qu's support with her seems so ridiculously out of character for him. It's painful, it really is.

Henry/Olivia

One of the lines in their s-support, complete with Henry's smug little grin, made me laugh far longer than it should have.

I like how the Paralogues for the children are essentially the AI saying "f**k you".

Or, alternatively, you can spend 60 hours completing support lists, and say that to the AI.

I found Severa's chapter to be the hardest, solely because she's a suicidal idiot.

Brady's paralogue was the only one where I felt the game seriously hated me, so I let him die along with the villagers
because screw him
screw his mother
screw the villagers who can't defend themselves
Gerome was slightly better, if only because the enemy didn't move to kill the villagers at all costs.

I just remembered I never got to make use of her my first time through. She took a dirt nap in the Outrealm soon after I rescued her.

I haven't played Gerome's in this playthrough yet, but in my last one, the enemy did move to kill the villagers at all costs, and succeeded. Most of my team were on foot, I couldn't reach them in time.

This time I have an army of fliers and bowmen waiting for them.

I guess the difference was the enemy didn't start right next to them, they bothered attacking my units on the bridges while rain sleet snow Brady's enemies went after the villagers even with Murdertank Vaike was wrecking them.

If you ever get passed the first few chapters of Freddy Emblem: Awakening, you definitely need to do that. On Lunatic +, you probably won't get passed chapter 2 without braking the 3DS.

Here is the best Pairings with skills, IMO.

Chrom(Males always get RK, Females get Aether)+Olivia(Galeforce)

Vaike(Sol)+Lissa(Galeorce)

Ricken(Lifetaker)+Maribelle(Galeforce)

Kellam(Pavise)+Sully(Aegis)

Gaius(Lethality)+Sumia(Galeforce)

Stahl(Aegis)+Cordelia(Galeforce)

Virion(Bowbreaker)+Cherche(Swordbreaker)

Gregor(Sol)+Panne(Pass)

Henry(Lifetaker)+Mirel(Tomefaire)

Libra(Tomefaire)+Thrja(Lifetaker)

Lon'qu(Swordfaire)+Nowi(Lifetaker)

[Male, +Speed, -Defence]Avatar(Lifetaker)+Lucina(Aether)

16 units for endgame

Chrom, GreatLord(Rightful King, Aegis, and Aether)

Olivia, Swordmaster(Galeforce, Astra, Swordfaire)

Avatar, DemonFighter(Ignis, Lifetaker, Aggressor)

Lucina, GreatLord(Galeforce, Aether, Swordfaire)

Owain, SwordMaster(Galeforce, Sol, Swordfaire)

Inigio, Berserker(Galeforce, Armsthrift, Axefaire, Sol)

Brady, Sage(Galeforce, Lifetaker, Tomefaire)

Kjelle, GriffonRider(Aegis, Pavise, Luna)

Cynthia, FalconKnight(Lethality, Galeforce, Lancefaire)

Severa, Sniper or BowKnight(Galeforce, Sol or Aegis, Bowfaire)

Gerome, WyvernLord(Sol, Renewal, Counter)

Yarne, Assasin(Pass, Lethality, Sol)

Laurent, Sorcerer(Lifetaker, Tomefaire, Tomebreaker)

Noire, Sorcerer(Lifetaker, Tomefaire, Tomebreaker)

Nah, Trickster[if high magic] or Assassin(Lifetaker, Swordfaire, Locktouch)

Morgan, Bride[if you have DLC] your choice if not(Lifetaker, Aether, Bonds)

I'm thinking that team would be pretty damn good.

Henry gave me the funniest commentary I've seen in the game on a DLC map.
"Hey, want to go grave robbing with me?"
"Such things will only bring sadness."
"That's not true. Just look at how happy I am."

@Shepenwepet Keeping up with Severa wasn't too difficult for me since I put pretty much all of my fliers on her side of the map. What was difficult was that I didn't realize that she had to actually talk to the Villager guy to join the army, so I had to do the whole thing all over again.

I had problems with her hugging walls next to ranged attackers, and generally being in the way. Once i realized I could hit her with a rescue staff on the first turn and get her going down the other path, everything was peachy.

Then she joined my team and became SEVERA, DESTROYER OF RISEN AND ANYTHING ELSE UNLUCKY ENOUGH TO CROSS HER PATH.

I forget what she stands to inherit this time. Galeforce and something. It's always Galeforce and something. I know her dad's Stahl but I completely forget what class he was.

I recruited Kjelle last night, having to do the map twice because the first time around I was over halfway done and realized I had no chest keys or units with locktouch. Huh, I never thought - if you complete a map with the chests untouched, if you have a skirmish there afterwards, are they open and empty? Or can you still loot them?

Anyway, serves me right to go into battle without Gaius.

They're empty if you don't loot them the first time

What about the Outrealm Gate in terms of lore? It apparently connects the worlds of the fire emblem games together and people have come through it before since Chrom knows of the Heroes of old even though the only Fire Emblem and Mystery of the Emblem take place in the same world as Awakening
Fire Emblem world Map
and Awakenings map
and even then the sea levels would have had to lowered in the intervening time
I also think we have seen an Outrealm Gate before, with the Dragon's Gate in Rekka no Ken which the Dragons used to go to another world after the Scouring.

i havent unlocked any of the Gen2 unit paralogues. Except for Lucina. And Lucina (SPOILERS) pops out of existence? (SPOILERS)

anyone tell me what Im missing out?

And Yes. Donnel is beast.

My thinking is, Donnel + Someone with Galeforce = Daugther + MU = UBER Morgan.

Also try this class on for size:
Berserker with Lifetaker, Vengeance, Axefaire, Vantage, Counter

Ah. Thanks. I assumed as much, but wasn't going to try.

I may be wrong, but I'm thinking the Outrealm Gate is less about making sense lore-wise and more about making money.

I honestly don't know what you mean.

I know it is about making the monies and I am throwing 20 dollars from every paycheck at Nintendo for more Fire Emblem content. But this is one of those little things I like to think about and apply lore to
Homebound could be talking about the epilogues for an unpaired Lucina, my Lucina married Yarne so their epilogue was his search for a safe place constantly being delayed by Lucina going out of her way to help everyone she saw.

Oh, epilogues. Yeah, my Lucina travelled the world with Owain, as far as I can remember, hopefully having a nice, platonic and certainly not incestuous time.

My Morgan was the only one unpaired. Said he kept on trying to recall memories of his father and never succeeded, or something.

My avatar's ending overrode Chrom's, I won't post due to spoilers, but it certainly didn't make a whole lot of sense, considering she was the wife of the damn prince.

God, I feel embarassed but...

I just got the game, and was trying to buy the darn DLC packs. I just can't figure out how to do so, though, because trying the eShop sends me to the game, and the game pre-start menu doesn't seem to help.
