In the outrealms and multiple timelines, it doesn't have to make sense. Time and space are trippy, and rogue Einherjar that already mix friend and foe.Sajuro wrote...
No, I would prefer to leave them in the outrealm constantly waging their own battles since the villains from previous games, especially ones who would side with Grima, are among the cards too. Also that would raise questions as to why warriors from other worlds (or at least times) were all the sudden revived.Dean_the_Young wrote...

In a game that relies a lot on the enemy phase to do most of the killing, Galeforce is a bit too prized in my opinion. Maybe I'll see its true value in Lunatic.
On a side note, a minor lore question. Are Risen the fallen soldiers from the failed future?
Its suggested that they are. Theres a certain lvl farther along in the game and DLC stuff that hints that not only are the Risen fallen soldiers but also fallen heroes from different timelines.
This just supports my idea that they should have played a light/dark yin-yang with the Risen and Elo-whatevers. Elohim being spirits taken by Naga/the Light, Risen those taken by Grima, and their undead armies fighting eachother over the land and both causing harm to the locals in the way.
More seriously, in the context of the main story it would be easier to cast: the endless armies of Light and Dark as Naga and Grima fight over the boundaries of Time and Space. Servants of the Fell Dragon, or those consumed/claimed by ritual, have their souls consumed and their bodies left to become Risen. Servants of Naga and other Heroic Spirits become Einherjar in the Outrealms, their bodies gone but their spirits intact.
All you'd really have to do is embelish and develop the existing lore of both a bit: according to Henry risen can be summoned by deliberate means to fight against one's enemies, and we know the Grimleal (and the Conqueror) can control them to some extent. Similarly, the idea of summoning Einherjar as a easy-make army is part of the plot for the first DLC: Einherjar obey the card holder, good or evil, when they aren't just rampant. Which would be just as bad for the land, because intelligent but misdirected Einherjar can go about their havoc so much more efficiently, no?
Both Risen and Einherjar, in other words, are potentially endless, summonable armies that can be drawn from time and space. Both can, with some contextual exceptions, be generally associated with the Dragon of Light (Naga) or Dark (Grima), who are known to fight (the backstory) and are demonstrated to have powers related to moving people across time and space (the Children, the Avatar of Grima). Both have religions and powerbases on the continents who would willingly summon their God's aid, and the allure of quick power and expendible armies would be tempting to even more secular powers.
The blocks are there. All you'd really need to do is, well, build it up more. New arc, or new dynamics while remaking old ones. As Risen/forces of Evil spread across the land, worshippers of Naga/pragmatic schemers like Excellus discover the power of the Einherjar seek to summon them to counter Risen/bolster their own power. Because Einherjar naturally oppose Risen, the forces of Grima-of-the-Future, Naga not only allows but enables this to occur as part of her opposition to Grima.
Einherjar hosts come, are ultimately not much more controllable than the Risen they oppose, and what starts as secular opportunism (say Excellus wanting a summon-army) snowballs into end-of-days war of Light and Dark as rogue Einherjar, lost and confused in time, fight Risen and eachother and anyone else in their confusion. Their inclusion, intended to help, only increases the chaos of the world in a big fight between Light and Dark.
So it's up to Chrom and the Shepards (or, as part of his role, the Valm and the Conqueror) to fight both the forces of Light and Dark to end the conflict and restore peace and justice to the world.
Really, it's not that much different from what we already get if you use the DLC or fight Bonus Box teams.
