DS - 999 (9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors) - a visual novel with a gripping story. I've never heard someone say that they disliked this game in any form. The emphasis here isn't really on gameplay, there are a few puzzles to be solved, but you're gonna be in it for the story. There's a sequel for the 3DS called Virtue's Last Reward. I lost sleep over it.
DS - Rondo of Swords - a tactical RPG with the unique "Route Maneuver System", instead of placing a unit next to an enemy and attacking them, you deal damage by moving through units. There's also multiple endings.
DS - Etrian Odyssey series - these are for fans of old school dungeon crawlers and turn-based combat. They're known for their punishing difficulty.
3DS - Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. Hell yes. But I'm big on music.
Whatever you do, don't buy Spirit Camera, the Fatal Frame 3DS game. The story is a whopping 2 hours long. It's criminal, it is.

I'm getting a 3DS XL tomorrow, can someone recommend some good games for me? I skipped the DS so DS titiles will work as well.
I'm waiting for these games to come out
Etrian Odyssey but I say wait for the Etrian Odyssey 4. It looks really good graphically even.

Shin Megami Tensei IV looks gorgeous for a 3DS title and I'm a sucker for Atlus.
For some good ones that are out I'd have to say
Tales of the Abyss fun combat like any Tales game but its a rerelease if you have played the PS2 version there is no need to play it again.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked yet another rerelease which was a DS game not sure if it was on another console. The 3DS version has an extra chapter and full voice acting though also being an Atlus game you can bet its a good game.
If you have friends with Kid Icarus: Uprising I strongly suggest it for the multiplayer. The single player is fun yea but I've spent alot of time with this game online.

All you get (according to this article) is the FE-themed 3DS, a pre-installed version of the game, and a 4GB sd card.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of some of the models either. As stand-alone characters, some of them would be fine. But it just seems.... wrong to taint Ike in such a way. Eirika doesn't look that bad though.

Okay, I had to see what all the fuss was about.
Here's Radiant Dawn Ike:

And here's what appears to be a ten year-old child cosplaying as some sort of Robo-Ike:

Ugh. Well, the rest of the new artwork can only be better, right?
...right?

My main problem is how the hell she would fight in that dress. There are a few others that bug me to, but those stood out.The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...

So what class are you guys going to change your avatar in to? I'm going mercenary or myrmidion.

Really, though, I'll probably stick with strategist/grandmaster. So... books AND bashing things.

For my avatar, I think I'll be sticking to Tactician, or become a Mercenary

It looks like they wanted to make him similar to his PoR incarnation. And failed horribly.

Now Ephraim looks badass.

I admit, short of Mages fighting in the dress there's no real reason for Eirika to wear a bridal outfit and be fighting regularly for days on end as she's traveling, with sword in hand.

Something to be aware of is save for some iconic things that make the characters appearance, like Ike's headband, all the DLC character models and their art are all based on the clothing/armour designs used by classes in the game.

Apparently the reason for the dress is because she's part of a class called. Bride.
Oh I know that much. Just why the hell they'd have Eirika, a sword-user, wearing a bridal outfit when that's not feasible at all in combat is just silly and something I can't fathom. There's no reason for it. Not unless that outfit's made of some delicate but incredibly strong material. Which it won't be.
