Higher ranked supports result in better stat boosts. among other things, so it's a good idea to have everyone talk to everyone in their list.

Fighting next to someone or paired up with someone will accrue "support points", the more you fight, the more you get. (Paired Up gets tons more, so do that. In fact, do it anyway, it makes the game a lot easier..) Once you have enough points, the conversations will unlock in the support menu.

Pairs aren't locked, right? I can switch them up at any time?

Unlimited number of A level supports is one of the best changes they've ever made to the series.

You mean you didn't know about the marriage thing beforehand? A quick look at the wikipedia page told me about it before I even had a 3DS to buy the game.Liamv2 wrote...
I still have a grudge over the game not telling you what an S support was.

Nope. I did no research on the game. I picked up game on a whim when is saw a deal with it for £20. It never told me what it meant in game and I ended up married to Cordelia by accident.
But Cordelia is awesome.

You shouldn't have to read up on Wikipedia to play a game.

Yeah she ended up my fav character but I kinda wanted to meet the other characters first. (Yes I am petty)
There are worse options. It could've been Nowi.

It's kind of an important detail if you wound up married to some NPC without your realizing it.

I see your point but that's still kind of irrelevant. It doesn't hinder you ability to play the game which you implied.OdanUrr wrote...

Same story here, except with Lissa. It doesn't help that the supports didn't even hint at romance until it was too late.
Owain more than made up for it though.

My avatar married (and subsequently divorced) everyone. Even Ricken, who is not quite male Nowi, but I still think he should be in a playpen with some stuffed toys or something. Fire-resistant stuffed toys.

True. I save after every battle like 90% of the time.Shepenwepet wrote...
Assuming everyone saves after battles, (doesn't the game send you to the save screen after a battle?) I don't see how "accidentally marrying" anyone is a problem. You can always reload and lose nothing.
So he's playing around in his support conversations too? I've only seen a few of his so far in my latest playthrough. He died pretty much near the beginning of the game the last two times. My avatar married (and subsequently divorced) everyone.
