It's hard not to get hyped for the next entry to the Fire Emblem series after watching this video. I recommend watching it if you're new to the series like I am.

This is the video that made me subscribe to that guy. He has great analyses.

And blood.

His own, others, it don't matter.

He also likes bad puns!

Are you saying his puns are a CAWS for concern?

He does. Have you seen his Zelda Is Evil theory video?

One of his best videos, methinks.

That's cool. I've been a lifelong Nintendo fan, though I consider myself a Sony fan first as of right now. My interest in Nintendo sort of waned during the Wii years, then came back with the Wii U and 3DS. Games like Fire Emblem Awakening certainly helped in that regard and I've recently purchased Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask for the 3DS along with Hyrule Historia (all of which I would recommend to anyone). Overall, with games like Splatoon and Xenoblade Chroncicles X along with the games that I've already mentioned,  I'd say it's a good time to be a Nintendo fan.

Also, to those that have missed it, here's a discussion on the upcoming Fire Emblem by GameXplain.

:P  ninja'd

That crossover looks great, about time I got a Wii U.

Branching story lines for FE, and the avatar as the main character are also things.

And it'll be out in 2016 for the west.

Dear lord, turns out they might actually Pokemon the game up and release the two paths as their own seperate games...

Edit: Oh wait, looks like the Western release might just be one of the games (probably the "good"/novice path), with the other one as DLC (and the third one as well, I presume).

You think so? The Pokemon games don't differ too much outside of a few small changes and differing Pokemon.

Doing that in the new FE with a fresh story... you'd have to pick between two sizeable variations at purchase, so before you'd even properly know what one or the other entails.

Which would be really, really dumb. Accordingly I wouldn't put it past Nintendo... but still.

EDIT: OK, so in Japan at least that's confirmed. The alternate route available as paid dlc and a third one where you do your own thing also.

I'm not sure how to feel about that.

It's what they're doing already with at least the Japanese version:

There you have to choose between either version, after which you can buy the other as dlc at a "reduced price" of 1800 yen (rounded down), and a third campaign after that for another 1800. I'm not sure how Nintendo will translate those prices, but that means the full experience here will at least be 75 bucks in the best case scenario of each dlc campaign being costing "only" 15, possibly up to 85 if they decide the fans are dedicated enough to milk like that (they probably are).

Hyrule: Total War confirms it. All hail the queen of blades. Dictator of the Triforce.

Oh, yeah. I just looked it up myself.

So I suppose the only thing is they might not consider that a safe bet for FE in the west despite Awakening's success, and do things differently.

I've seen similar stuff, like them waiving online fees for Monster Hunter Tri in the west. Hopefully they'll go with that.

Okay, that is kinda stupid, but I'm glad to finally see some actual footage of the crossover and more Fire Emblem.

Yay, more DLC piecemealing.

And unlike western games on the PC, cut prices won't save us.

Lovin' the main character designs.

Maybe going a bit too far to remind us they've added feet this time around though.

And it was the avatar transforming in the trailer too... Interesting.

Actually based on some things I am seeing on Twitter and other sites they are not sure if the Western release of the next Fire Emblem game will be two separate games or one single game.  In the North American and European Nintendo Directs they never state that it will have two separate releases and the dialogue heavily indicates that you are making a choice between two families within a single game.

That would be preferable if that's the case.

Still haven't found a 100% confirmed source (I prefer at least two separate sources before I lock in on something).

Fire Emblem is a much higher demand in Japan though so having two games makes sense there but in North America it has only recently become a hot IP so it is unclear if the market would be welcoming to two separate releases..... though on Youtube people are ready to buy three...... and they favour Nohr, because Bewbs.

Pokemon sells itself on merchandising and collectibles, it literally revolving around the concept of collecting Pokemons 'till you have them all, thus the whole dual-release has always made sense to that franchise. I don't see it for Fire Emblem. It's a jarring practice of yesteryear.

Gonna have to wait until the news feeds calm down the only sources I have are:

- The Japan Nintendo Direct does state they are releasing two versions of the game.

- The North American and European versions of the Nintendo Direct say you will be able to choose a side and go into detail of the factions within the game (singular).  They always refer to the game in the singular context in these two Directs.

Don't know if anyone noticed, but the enemies can pair up now.

Kill 'em before they strengthen their bonds!

That SMT X FE trailer had to be the most the most animu trailer I've ever seen.
