The question wether we can customize again is a good one.
It worked in Awakening since Robin was literally an avatar of the player and there was no baclground info. This time we are the main character and got a family too.
I personally won't mind if we can't customize, since both characters look great, but I can understand those that would be dissapointed.

Yeah, the word got dropped once or twice during the direct. So it should be there.
I'd be surprised if there wasn't customization honestly.. Hmm, wonder what the boxart will look like if we're getting a single cartridge version. Maybe they'll do a Dissidia and have two sided cover art so you can choose the cover you want.

Joking aside, this trailer just doubled my initial hype over the game. Hopefully both storylines are very distinctive from each other, and that neither is more evil than the other (though I doubt that will be the case).
Maybe shoes impede their ability to turn into spindly dragon looking things.

Leaning towards Nohr(?) myself as well. Though if the trailer is anything to go by, we will spend some time with both families to familiarize with them. Hopefully we get to see both nations ideological standings, character relationship, and more. Will be interesting for sure.

It certainly doesn't look like anything out of SMT pre-SMT-IV which isn't that big of a deal to me. They haven't shown enough yet to make any rash judgements, or portraying the SMT elements, which I imagine will be the gameplay and the ability to summon creatures to attack and defend you.
It also doesn't have quite as strong of a style as Persona, along with the music not being on the level of Meguro-sensei.

I like to think so. I think this title is very exciting as it combines two things I like and Atlus haven't disappointed yet, but they have surprised with the likes of Persona Q.
I don't mind if they're pulling a Pokemon ORAS on us and restricting customization. I'd love if the main character/avatar was a more established character this time around.
I think I'll do a Hoshido playthrough first, since it's a break from the standard European fantasy, as far as aesthetics go. Not sure about the story. Will wait on that.

Eh. It seemed more like a "one size fits all" type. I mean, great, you're a tactician who obsesses over his/her work and "defies destiny" and all that but... what do you do for fun? How do you cope with amnesia? For a main character, he isn't as fleshed out as I would want him to be.
Admittedly, he wasn't bad in Awakening. His supports with the other characters were relatively good.

Is there any word on the other possible factions? The other Fire Emblems had some aside from the two main warring kingdoms (Grado and Renais, Yllise and Plegia, Lycia and Bern).

Article talks about the Two versions in Japan but again no information on if that will be the same for North America and Europe.
So it looks like nobody outside of Nintendo has any reliable information on how this will be released.
Also, calling it right now: the protag isn't related to the Hoshido royal family by blood either, but rather found as an infant in some (Manakete?) temple or something. Don't see any other way to explain his ability to transform and potentially be customisable, and allows for romances all around.
