I'll keep my eye on it and see what happens. In the worste case I'll simply wait till it ends in the discount bin.
Plenty of other games to look forward to.
Awakening is still sold at it's original price around here (and is still selling) so you may have a bit of a wait on that.

I want to be interested in this game but they are doing a very good job of not keeping my interests. No big deal, there is the crossover and other exciting titles I'm looking forward to now as well
I only just remembered that I have no other games to look forward to. Assuming that continues into 2016, which will most likely be the case, despite being salty as f*ck about all this, I'll probably pick it up. Man, I hope I can get another console before then.

So I just watched those trailers. Interesting premise. Reminds me a bit of the second Fire Emblem game.
On a side note, I cannot for the life of me understand why Japanese voices are so requested for in NA/EU fanbases. Every female voice I've heard from this game makes me die a little inside.

Something I don't get is why there is such a massive gap between release dates for Japan and the rest of the world.
It's definitely not taking 6+ months to translate the game to English.

I'm pretty sure localization involves alot more than just translating a game.

Production would likely be the biggest hurdle. There are more people outside of Japan than within it and with Awakening's success they probably anticipate big numbers.

Not really a lot more that I'm aware of.
Although the translation does mean both written and voiced dialogue needs to be translated then tested and Fire Emblem can be a pretty dialogue heavy game, Awakening took 10 months which I just don't see happening unless they didn't start the process until after the Japan release and are using minimal resources to get it done.
Which it seems like it'd be a smart idea to aim for a late November/early December release for NA to hit Christmas rather than waiting until 2016 and releasing in April(assuming another 10 month wait).

Localization involves more than just translating text -- It's about adapting a product previously translated into different languages to a specific region or culture. More or less it is the second phase of a larger process of translating and adapting a product for it to be digestible to the western cultural heritage.
Here's an inteview with Atlus USA that touches a bit upon the localization effort. There is a podcast with John Hardin from Atlus too I need to find, where they go more in depth with it.
Here's the actual interview I wanted to post at first.

What I'm saying is that it doesn't seem like all that should take 10 months.
That's about half the development time of the entire game of Awakening.

If you read the interview you'll also notice they are talking about how the length of localization varies from game to game too.

Hoshido said it less. Hoshido wins.
Also, Hoshido doesn't have a yandere older sister equipped with a battle axe and a thong.

Evidently. She forgot to bring her old ones along on her second time travelling trip to another land.
Can't wait to see how they actually try and explain this one.

As lazy as this is, I find this blatant reuse of assets more tolerable than BioWare using Jack sprites as civilians in ME3. IS trying to explain this with something other than, "Yeah, it's Severa" would definitely be hilarious.

I'm honestly not entirely sure which would be worse, a reuse of assets like that or bringing back a fan favourite under questionable justification.
Probably reuse of assets.
"We're sorry you don't get to keep your old Tsundere for the next Fire Emblem. But we've made a better, brand new one! Honest!"
But I'd wager that literally is just Severa acting under a pseudonym.
I'm conflicted. It seems dumb, but I actually quite like Severa.
