They've already said that the Special Edition will be sold at the price of the two games essentially so yeah...

The only thing that'll justify that collection (too late for Japan, I guess) would be it coming with a FULL soundtrack. You have until 2016, Nintendo. Don't f*ck up that eventual western release.

Persona Q's Wild Card's Edition had a 3DS bag, deck of tarot cards, small soundtrack and artbook. That was definitely worth it and I didn't even have to pay as much as this.

Once again we still don't know if these games are being release as two separate titles outside of Japan so we can at least hold off until we get confirmation.

 

At the same time this is more along the lines of Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons were you get two complete stories (yes the first six missions are the same but in the Oracle series you needed to buy both and play them in a linked game to unlock the final mission paths and get the final boss fight with Ganon)

 

To be honest I would like to hear from someone who lives in Japan and how people view this as I haven't really seen any negative viewpoints about it. Would be nice to know if stuff like this is more common over there or they are just not bothered by it.

Either they don't have to pay as much as we do for the games or japanese people simply are crazy enough to buy the same game twice.

Odd thing is I have visited several different websites where people are talking about this , both FE and Non FE related, and the only place were I am finding general negativity about the dual release is here.

I've seen it on other sites though it's mostly died down. We just like repeating ourselves.

I honestly cannot imagine why it would be any different in the West? The Pokemon comparisons, as frequent as they are, become tragically quiant here. The sheep wants it so Nintendo is happy to oblige.

In the North American Direct and all other official sources talking about the game they always referred to it as a single game, the only area were two versions have been officially revealed is Japan.  That is were the uncertainty is coming from.

 

Even journalists are not sure if it will get the multi game treatment or be released on one card.  The presence of the Special edition in Japan which has both games on it has people wondering if regions outside of Japan will just get the Special Edition version as standard.

 

Oh and considering some companies are able to get people to buy multiple copies of the same exact game just for pre-order bonuses calling Nintendo fans sheep isn't fitting (I know several people who are buying at least three copies of Batman: Arkham Knight which must be around $300 together).
