The bold does imply that this will be on one cart, unfortunately no one has actually confirmed if it will be one cart outside of Japan or Two yet. NA hints at but they just won't come out and say it.

Nintendo's marketing implied it when they revealed it before it came out. Obviously, I don't believe it.
Voice acting was "meh" too.
Apparently, according to Kotaku, it will be split in two versions.
Whether you trust Kotaku or not, you have to admit that the vagueness surrounding Nintendo disclosing information from these last few months is a tad bit annoying.

They don't link the source so ya it's hard to take at face value.
Just be nice if they just came out and said if it would be one or two games or two games with a deluxe set that has both together and just get it over with.
The fan sites though are siding on the two games release just to avoid confusion with the lack of an official announcement.
Edit: News sites are now going with the two games release so I have a feeling this is the route it will be taking.
I did find more info on the Two versions though

Each version of the game will change the format of overall gameplay outside of the storyline.
So the two games will play quite differently which shows they have at least put an effort to make sure each game will have a unique experience that the other game will not have.
YOU ARE MY CHILD NOW! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! #definitelynotavillain

I have a feeling our new daddy will die at least around the early/middle part of the game and our new older brother takes over the kingdom.
No Harold amiibo.
*pat pat*

All hail Britanni-I mean Nohr!
It says a lot that all us care more about Harold than we do about our old and new families.
and here is the E3 trailer for SMT X FE
I swear it's like there bust size gets bigger with every trailer.

I am still cautiously excited for this game because it's Atlus and they haven't let me down yet.. well actually they have, but looking past aside that and the FF-X2 pop idol shenanigans, there might be a solid JRPG in this one.

So that's that then huh? I still find it silly, no matter how Nintendo decides to twist it.
According to the trailers, they want you to make a story decision before actually experiencing the story. The hell if that makes any sense.
Maybe that will be remedied by releasing the first six chapters in a 3DS demo but I doubt it.

This is exactly what I said. How are we to presume we are going to like the characters we are getting? You're not buying a different game, you're buying a game that plays the same then goes into a narrative pathway ala the Witcher where things diverge for a small margin at best.
Like the crummyness of Season Passes adapted into a game release.

I can't wait until devs start selling "Create your own game" packs. Buy the "Stormcloak" pack if you want to fight for the true sons of Skyrim!

I could have sworn someone has already tried to do that.

It's just another way for companies to overcome how much cheaper games have gotten over time, and how much more expensive developed is today. Given that the alternative is to push for a bigger audience or MTX, I'm not seeing the issue.
Note: If you feel strongly about Fire Emblem Fates being two games I would suggest informing Nintendo in some form about it as they do listen to feedback
http://www.nintendol...ur_expectations
Mr. Iwata went on Twitter and Apologized for what many people felt was a lackluster E3 presentation and stated that they want to here peoples feedback. So if you don't like the Two game system let them know

If that's true then make smaller scale games and use other budget saving techniques such as reusing assets. Simple. Don't immediately go for the screw over the customer option.

>Overcoming Expense

Well, FE is on treehouse right now, and they just straight up said there's two versions.
And then went on to say you'll make a decision in chapter six that'll change the course of the game.
*shakes head*
Edit: And they showed chapter six, and talked about it as if you'd make the decision right there and then, then cut it off right as the cut scene ended.
They're being down right shifty trying to donwn play the split.
