Yeah.  They already said there'd be more restrictions which is essentially that about 1/3 of the army is family.

30% dating sim sounds like it would be a step down from what Awakening had.

 

Awakening was more of a breeding simulator than a dating sim.

How is the characterisation in Awakening? I am considering purchasing it on the Nintendo e-store, however, I have a habit of picking up 3DS games only to put them back down not too long after. Fire Emblem Awakening intrigues me, but I need to ensure that I would actually fell compelled to come back to it. Characterisation and narrative are key in bringing me back to games.

Any game that has a stats carry over to children mechanic will lead to eugenics 100% of the time.

If you live in Murica buy Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker instead. It's the better anime cliche. With better characters and narrative

Awakening is quite alright -- I enjoyed it though I'm also new to Fire Emblem overall.

 

If not, I suggest Digital Devil Saga or Persona 2 (if you have a Vita) since Record Breaker is not out in Europe, if character and narrative are key anyway.

Otherwise I suppose there is the remake of the first game, titled Overclocked.
