Indeed. It alleviates Awakening's inherent mechanical flaw of turning every unit int a powerhouse because you can't grind. Good ol Fire Emblem goodness in the Nohr route.

The Dark Future DLC for Awakening was the best part of the story --Funny enough. The dialogue, story, interaction between the parents and future children, and everything, was generally better in that DLC.

These improved bonds affect units stats when engaged in battle within "Attack Stance" and "Guard Stance". This can also allow your bonded unit to receive a "Surge" in stats, which is a temporary stat boost for the next battle. Be warned, that skinship isn't as easy as it may seem, since certain characters prefer to be touched in certain ways or places. Just as you can be successful, you can also fail in building a bond with skinship."

Gaius had to be among my favorites as a parent, especially to Cynthia, as his dialogue with her was rather touching and well done. Yeah, the Dark Future DLCs were pretty good, in fact, better than the actual story.

Yup. While Hoshido's easier difficulty will definitely appeal to people it plays like a better Awakening instead of decidely different, improved game. The simplistic objectives were one of my biggest issues with Awakening so I wouldn't buy that one either.
