oh ya thats pretty bad, but after seeing all 3 routes including the DLC route for fire emblem: fate, its all ONE game thats been chopped into 3 pieces and sold at FULL price. Theyre doing this so they can get the most amount of money from you instead of creating a product thats worth its retail price. And thats why Im not getting fe: fates. The japanese turbo otakus will probably eat this **** up, but thats stupid consumerism and Im not going to be one of them.

 

Well actually if you own one you can download the second at a reduced price so you don't need to buy two full priced games.

 

I'm also wondering, if you borrow a copy from a friend can you download the other part at a reduced price, but then go into the download copy and get a copy of the game you borrowed at a reduced price as well.

id rather have a complete game at launch. the differences in the story really dont warrant a second game and a 3rd route dlc regardless of how much they want you to think it is.

Each version has the same amount of content as Fire Emblem: Awakening, so if they were together they would be twice as long as that game (3X with the 3rd path DLC). 

 

So looking at it from the developers point of view it would be putting twice (or three times) the amount of work as there last project but then only make the same amount of money, the extra work would not have been worth it.

The mechanics are very different

 

The Hoshido side plays like Awakening so you have a map to travel and can have the encounters that you can grind for more experience and will be more newcomer friendly.  It also has a unique story and exclusive in game characters and classes.

 

The Noir side is more like classic Fire Emblem in that you have the traditional story progression with less chance to grind, the game will be harder and more political in nature and have different objectives than simply defeating the enemy.  Again it will have it's own unique game characters and classes.

 

The "My Castle" in each game will play differently as well, information hasn't been fully released but they have said that the Noir side will have resource restrictions to represent the depleted landscape the people live in.

hmm..Il buy the collection edition then. If its a reasonable price. I wouldnt pay 80 dollars for this game. maybe 40-50 but thats it. Probably gonna get a used copy ifts anything more than that.

A new day and a new spoilers post! Lets count all the ways Serenesforest has datamined the crap out of this game shall we!

Storywise, theres a rumor that the theme is a lot darker than black vs white.[ Though that can get pretty dark on its own right. There are at least two character deaths in the story, one is by SUICIDE and the other BEING TORN APART BY ANIMALS. We're in for a wild ride i tell you what.

 

Speaking of plot.

 

Besides the otaku smut, this game actually has substance, enough so that Im officially repealing my 40 dollar price range. This is at least a 60 dollar game if all the other contents werent shipped into different versions. Best of all SWORDMASTERS FINALLY USE TWO SWORDS. In fe:awakening the swordmaster sprite had two katanas and their sword item equiped. Now thats not the case. Not sure if this means they mirror the 1 sword they have or that they can equip two weapons at a time, time will tell.

From the people who have played it, this game gets pretty grim(a) and there are story deaths. We have actual deathflags in this game. Its Wrex all over again except with magical little girls or manly big brothers. This game has really turned me around I gotta say.

As for the character expies, REINCARNATION is going to be a thing in Fire embem games now. Down that line we might even see a Sigurd or an Eliwood reincarnated again as someone in a different continuity. Luna/Severa this time around in the game she can be the MOM to cordelia's reincarnatioon Matoi, and their supports are pretty unique if Luna/Severa marries Matoi's father. (This time around, kids are tied to dads instead of moms)

Furthermore, according to Shara/Tharja and Kamui's dialogue, Shara is indeed Tharja's reincarnation but Kamui is a reincarnaiton of ROBIN.

 

Furthermore, according to a post on reddit extrapulating from resources such as serenesforest and the twitch lobbies,

"Alright so for those who aren't keeping up with the Serenes threads or any of the Twitch streams, a few major revelations about the characters were made:

 

-Several characters die on each route via scripted events, including but not limited to Kaze, Gunter, Flora (I saw people saying she actually commits suicide), and Elise.

 

-Some of these deaths, like Kaze's for example, can be stopped if certain battle requirements are met during a chapter where the unit is supposed to die.

 

-No word yet on what those requirements are.

 

-Some characters, however, are doomed to die depending on the route you choose and there is not a thing you can do. For example, in the Hoshido route, Elise dies when she tries to intervene in a fight and Marx ends up killing her (I believe it was accidental on Marx's part). People are now theorizing that this means Sakura will die in the Nohr route under similar circumstances.

Gotta say, the death of Elise was pretty surprising. It even got a full cg cutscene. I do like these revelations though. What do you guys think?

 

EDIT: It has also been revealed that, supposedly, each of the Nohr siblings were born via a different concubine, with Marx being the only sibling being born from Garon's actual wife. Also, Kamui is supposedly the child of Mikoto the Hoshido Queen and the dragon deity named Hydra. The Hoshido siblings were born by the now deceased Hoshido King and another wife. When said wife died, the Hoshido King remarried to Mikoto and decided to take Kamui in and raise the step-child as if they were blood."

 

And another post states:

 

• Gunter dies from falling off a bridge.
• Kaze dies protecting Kamui
• Flora(the Blue-haired Maid) commits suicide on a pyre.
• Not sure how she dies, but for some people, Camilla has died for them in the Hoshido Path.
• And apparently in the Nohr Path, it's possible for Sakura to die by getting ripped to shreds by a bunch of monsters.

NOHR SIDE IS BRUTAL. there are ironman sections where you have to play thru entire sections of the game without saving.

Been reading everything reddit has to offer so already knew all the spoilers posted here but i'll just say i'm legit hyped for this game. Definitively buying both versions don't care anymore. Also getting immense pleasure out of the outrage over:

Romancing all the sisters/brothers. Even though there is a rumor that you are not blood related to ANYBODY.

 

It just sucks that this game might be heavily censored for the NA. Some of it i can understand:

However if they remove much more the game is going to lose a lot of it's charm and content.

I like the darker theme they are going for. I like some deaths being unpreventable no matter how much i may like the character, it's part of the reason i love Game of Thrones. I like that the two versions do seem to be quite difference, warranting buying both versions. I like the character customization so far, though more is always better (when will they let us change eye color? At least red is pretty cool). I like everything really. I hope the game does extremely well in sales and the "new" Fire Emblem is here to stay because i may be in the minority but i think i like it better than the old games.

If youre a fire emblem Awakening fan, youre gonna drop bricks about the 6 clones characters.

According to Odin/Owain's support with his daughter, the reincarnation of Lissa, he is indeed Owain from Awakening because HE HAS THE MARK OF THE EXALT and Lissa/OPHELIA DEVELOPS ONE.

 

It doesnt have any power in the story unfortunately but he does say something VERY interesting.

 

"ODIN: Ophelia... let me tell you one thing. Even if you don't have any power, you are special. The blood of great heroes flows through your veins. That of a holy emperor who slayed an evil dragon in the distant future... and also, that of the two valiant heroes who died protecting me

 

OPHELIA: ... The future? A holy emperor? You're not making any sense, Dad... and why do you look like you're about to cry?"

 

This CONFIRMS it. Not ONLY is Odin OWAIN from Awakening, Fates is set in AWAKENING'S PAST. And assuming those two heroes that share the mark are Lucina and Chrom or Lucina's sibling, we can guess that this version of Owain is from a BAD END timeline.

 

Digging around it turns out Luna/Severa in her S-Support tells you that she, owain and inigo were sent farther into the past to kill Grima. GUESS WHAT HAPPENS IN THE THIRD ROUTE.

Funny enough Odin's daughter is similar to Lissa and Lazward's daughter has shades of Olivia. There might be a trend where the 6 clones have child characters who are reincarnations of their parents. That would mean Kamui's child will be Morgan's reincarnation!

 

What I want to know is, is Azura(aka Aqua) really Lucina's reincarnation? I havent seen much of anything hinting at this.

Damn. I forgot which Fire Emblem was Nohrtorious for its long battles. I think it was one of the Marth games. Maybe the DS remake was the one. Kind of an exciting challenge. Very old-school. I hope IS has learned to balance difficulty setting because you know people are going to want to try this on higher difficulties. And any arbitrary RNG Lunatic+ BS shenanigans would be a fail.

Theres this one video of a speedrunner doing fire emblem awakening. He was doing Lunatic+ and he was on the level where Virion and Sully arrive. Everythings looking good, people are having a good time theres one last enemy left on the field. Everybodys a little banged up but its nothing they cant survive for one more turn.

 

the LAST enemy walks up to Frederick with a 1% hitrate, LANDS AND CRITS, killing Frederick. It was like watching someone die inside in slow motion. EDIT: no wait, thats exactly what it was.
