Unfortunately, we're not watering plants. And yeah, this may be good to hit a group of targets all at once, but don't pretend that they'll all die before you do. Because they won't. Because they may get staggered, but if you're firing upon a tight group of, say, 4 Marauders, they will get you killed (probably before you even manage to take down their shields)

That being said: I like the Revenant. I like the sound, the look, the fell, the prolongued fire. But I wish the spread wasn't so brutal. And I wish it didn't slow you down when you fire it. Because those things make using it a real challenge, and while I like challenges, it's really hard to take the Revenant when even a Phaeston is just more effective.

To be fair, I don't have to "pretend" they all die before I do.  They just DO, thats why I it works, and why I love it.

I don't even have to use cover most of the time.  Just hold the trigger down and walk forward (Destroyer, mind you), and everything short of a boss dies long before they really have a chance to hurt me, due to all the damage and stagger going on.

It is the very definition of "The best defense is a good offense."

I mean, yeah, don't try to just waltz around with the revenant on a quarian engineer or anything, sure.

OP, i'm interested to see a scoreboard where you topped plat in any map but rio and hydra with a no equipment revenant because your 0 medigel doesn't sound very much like it works without farming tactics from what i see of your n7hq

That would explain a bit. I take way more damage in PUG's than I do in an actual team, and that would make the routine work efficiently. It would work in PUG's but seems less than ideal.

By the way, you put "-.-" as if it was something I didn't try out 8 months ago. I'm one of the only ones on here that is actually asking how you make it work, rather than telling you it's stupid. That part, I just don't get.

Fair enough.  Like I said, that was just my first platinum match, and I did great on it thanks to the revenant.  No idea how that will hold up from hereon out.

As for medigel, I almost never have any.  Never really get any in packs.  Not for lack of trying, it just doesn't always give me some.

Very first platinum match, EXCELLENT team of people, ton of synergy....and I freaking topped the charts by a good 40k, winding up around, like...140-150k points at the end.

Now, i dunno if thats good or bad for a platinum player on average, but I know its pretty dang good for a FIRST TIME player on platinum.  Especially considering it plopped me in the middle of the match during wave 2 or 3, I forget, being attacked by a husk.

Pretty much ALL thanks to the Revenant.  I know damn good and well I couldn't pull that off with another gun (MAYBE the Typhoon, but I don't have it yet so I can't compare).

I'm just guessing that people are usually using it wrong.  it is a crowd control gun, through and through.  A mob duster.  I freaking LOVE IT!

Revenant
Pros:
Have lots and lots of popcorn to spare for the enemy, ...

drawbacks:
... since it hits for a petty amount of damage.
Innate "shaking" efffect, which cannot be reduced by stability.
As accurate as the American´s when it comes to missing hospitals during bombardments. Everything beyond 30 feet is essentially out of reach with this gun. Don´t even try to score headshots.

IF you are doing good with the Revenant, you would be doing VERY MUCH BETTER in any case with the Harrier, Sabre, PPR or the Typhoon. ENd of Story.

There are Jumbpo equipment packs, which gives you 5 medigels guaranteed.

I fou are going to a platinum game, be prepared to not always have a decent group and expect to be doing your share of work for the team´s success too. Being too cheap to spare a few credits for a reward of 130K does not make your Revenant story any more believable and/or glorious.

If this is your actual manifest, i can understand why you like the Reverant. I'm not saying that its a bad manifest, but you may want to revisit this thread after you've actually gotten the PPR, Typhoon or a higher evolution than the Harrier I.

Typhoon is the only one that could possibly replace the Revenant.  (PPR maybe, if only for sustained damage).

Saber is a rifle for all intents and purposes, and Harrier is just a standard assault rifle.  Neither of which can match the Revenant for sheer sustained firepower on multiple targets.

I may do better with those two, on say, my quarian marksman, though.

Oppinions may vary. I will try to get the Revenant working again if you insist. Still, you will always be off much better with any other assault rifle. Your oppinion may vary, but calling mine wrong is just as wrong. With us both being without proof of each of their claims, it comes down to personal preference.

May I challenge you to a Gold Duo? You having a revenant and me doing the Typhoon? Let´s call it a a machine gun contest. :)

See my Origin Tag in my Signature. GMT+1, playing during evenings. Looking forward to meet you in game, if you want. :)

Point being, there is no such thing as sustained fire, really, if you don´t have a bullett sponge giving you the time to get your magic working. And when using the Harrier, there is no need for sustained fire, due to things dying so fast.

Ran a silver with my puny Rev II this morning. Was marginally outscored by someone with a couple thousand N7 rating and some weapon X.

Turian soldier + stability+accuracy skills + marksman - absolutely shredded ravagers and brutes at range. With AP mods, banshees would have died just as fast.

Despite the inherent omfgicantdealwithnonsniper-accuracy, I suppose each gun has it's applications.

My only problem with the Revenant is that, the gun in ME2 was amazing. When you get her, in the colector ship, you can forget all the outer guns, if you are a soldier IMO.
In ME3, the gun is just not soo good, is a great gun, but not soo good like the UR assaukt rifle, and IMO, the Mattock, that's a uncommon gun, is better that the Revenant, that's a rare gun.

When I first came up, Mattock was my weapon of choice. Chose it over the revenant, pulse rifle even my first UR which was the saber. Great gun.

If you like to just spray'n'pray, good for you.

I however prefer actually aiming and whilst I can perfectly live with a weapon not being pinpoint accurate or having some serious recoil I have to control in order to have those accurate shots hit where I want them instead of a weapon that has already a noticable recoil AND STILL can't hit the broadside of a barn if it's INSIDE the barn.

The Revenant has horrible accuracy, face it and it would do good if that were being rectified, big time, because you can start firing at a Husk from near point blank and still about half the shots you fired miss the target. And frankly, it's RoF is NOT compensating that particular issue.

The gun should get a massive accuracy buff (well into the two digits) to tighten the bullet grouping up into short of medium range into a fit that you can still hit most shots on a standard target like a common trooper if you aim for center mass without having more than half the shots fly elsewhere. Compensate that with increased recoil instead and you have a halfway accurate, powerful, but not easily controlled gun. Perfect for people that can control the recoil, because those actually get something out of the gun in terms of performance through skill instead of luck that enough projectiles hit the intended target.

You know, for all the complaining about the bullet spread, the Revenant is not the worst gun in this area. Not even if I ignore all the shotguns + Talon.

I'd say it could do with a damage upgrade, though. The damage is solid, but a gun like that should do a bit more than solid.

couldnt agree more. It deserves to be treated better in MP.  It was labeled a big time gun in ME2 therefore it should get a buff of some kind.
