This is BSN, so.... that 'girl gamers' 'brag' about being female as if it matters in the slightest to their gameplay or comminuty integration. (Double points if they put 'I'm a girl' in all their posts/titles hoping for more attention.)
In fact, 'girl gamers' has come to mean attention-seekers so strongly that the phrase 'female players' would probably be preferred since it has less assumptions.

Not ALL people who reveal that they're female are desperately seeking male attention yno. I did a thread ages ago cos I genuinely wanted to find a few girls to play with (and I did btw), seeing as xbox is such a sausage fest. Some of it is pure attention-seeking and wanting a fuss, but please don't tar us all with the same brush. Just as I wouldn't say that male gamers are all creepy weirdos, or male gamers all pale puny weirdos who live with their mums and have no girlfriends. Lazy stereotypes are lazy.
