Fact: It has been intentionally added into games to so called 'reward' players who learn how to use it
Fact: The mechanic itself is still broken, has been broken, and will always be broken
Fact:reload cancelling, even though intentionally added, is still a broken mechanic that players take advantage of, ergo, the very definition of an exploit
Fact: How it is implemented in this game, if you really think you need skill to use it, please go back to playing Nintendo.
Fact: On host latency is not non existent, there is ALWAYS a minimum latency and additive with every piece of hardware you use, AND which plays into on host latency if any of that said hardware is not working optimally.
So feel free arguing semantics.

Using your very definition of an exploit, a "mean" or "unfair" use of mechanics, how is reload cancelling, "mean", or "unfair", if every player can do it?
If your answer is, because only experienced players know about it, then do you consider soft cover an exploit?

That's not the meaning of latency though...
Hardware latency, linked to human reaction times cannot be considered "latency" and is usually immeasurably small, so has 0 effect on your ability to play.
Also, if you are going to say something is a fact, please provide sources backing up all your falsehoods.
Oh yeah, you can't.
I can find a link to the post saying reload cancelling is working as intended and is not "broken" as you so foolishly claim.
You cannot find anything other than your own subjectivity to back up your waffle.
Last post, because I'm sick of trying to explain to idiots why they are wrong. But then again, that's the problem with the BSN: idiots with opinions that think we all want to know what those opinions are.

IIRC, he does.
On topic: Flamer can kill an Atlas in one cast.

Fact: We're saying that on-host latency doesn't exist because it is entirely negligible when you're talking about lag. Is that a 100% accurate? Hell no! Are you the one who is discussing semantics like crazy? Hell yeah!

Just because everyone can use it, you are still exploiting the mechanic by giving you an advantage against the AI (as substandard as it is, but thats what you are doing).
There are alot of things, such as soft cover or right hand advantage, that are what they are because how else can you program a FPS or third person that isnt in 3D? You play on a flat screen. How else can you portray that in a game? If you were to relate that to real life, and me being right handed, I would naturally expose only my hand and not my entire body when in cover.

So you're saying that using the right hand advantage isn't an exploit but reload cancelling is. Even though both features were intentionally put in by developers (who said neither of which are broken, btw) and even though both are almost always utilized by more experienced players. Got it. Cya.

Street Fighter II differs from its predecessor due to the selection of multiple playable characters, each with distinct fighting styles and special moves. An unintentional bug in the game's code enabled the player to "cancel" during the animation of some moves by performing another move, allowing for a combination of several basic and special moves. This "combo" system was later adopted as a standard feature of fighting games, and was expanded upon in subsequent Street Fighter installments.

So I guess since Newton uninentionally discovered the law of gravity we are all exploiters for sticking to the ground.
