How else do you explain the fact that he used the definition for the verb (to exploit) rather than the noun (an exploit) in his sig? He's obviously far more intelligent than the lot of you, and having fun at your expense.

This would make sense if his argument made sense, which it does not.
He has also stated previously and with his sig (now changed) that his opinion supports his argument, which leads one to believe he is actually serious and will now use your post to get out of said argument, since it has already gone too far.

Fine, I give up. Its not an exploit. Its an easily mastered mechanic to give everyone the supreme advantage of claiming the high scores on BSN, or their e-peen videos because they can make a Claymore into a semi auto shotgun that in NO way, is an advantage.

It's unfair to be able to shoot enemies through cover when they can't shoot you, so obviously using any weapons mods or ammo to allow you to do so is an exploit by your logic.

 

Wait....WHAT!? I get shot through cover all the time. By Pyros, Geth Hunters, and Atlas. To be fair, that last one is most likely OVER cover rather then through cover

If your answer is, because only experienced players know about it, then do you consider soft cover an exploit?

Just because everyone can use it, you are still exploiting the mechanic by giving you an advantage against the AI (as substandard as it is, but thats what you are doing).

There are alot of things, such as soft cover or right hand advantage, that are what they are because how else can you program a FPS or third person that isnt in 3D? You play on a flat screen. How else can you portray that in a game? If you were to relate that to real life, and me being right handed, I would naturally expose only my hand and not my entire body when in cover.

This will become a new meme, I can feel it!

Might I suggest a couple that would be good to reply to Gallows with in the future, as engaging in an actual dialogue is rather pointless.  He's like an alchemist, he turns opinions into facts with some magic middle ingredient that no one else understands.

My argument is still valid when exploit is used as a verb (which I intended). Animation cancelling is based around an unintentional bug. Said bug, was incorporated into games as a legit mechanic. So whats funny is that years ago it was a 'bug', today its 'legit', simply because the gaming community adopted it. So now I just call it cheap as hell. Much like nade spamming and others I listed.

I hope that as gaming technology continues to advance, animation cancelling is replaced by expanded sets of animations.  Advanced player performance shouldn't go hand-in-hand with breaking the visual fluidity of a game.  It's demonstration of a flaw/shortcoming in the game/game technology, whether it's sanctioned or not.
