Bethesda is going to hold an E3 press event for the first time ever...14 June 15. Too big a deal to announce something new in their lower tier franchises. That pretty much leave ES, New IP, or FO Next.
I'm betting on the latter...FO3 released 7 years ago; FONV released 5 years ago.
Anything other than those three and they're going to have a full fledged riot on their hands.

Let me guess:
Fallout Online.
The total screwing up of two franchises will be completed with this one (after Elder Scrolls Online).

Don't put those thoughts in my head. I don't need that trauma.

Ah, I can imagine it all now ![]()
A bunch of lights shine on the stage as Bethesda Representative, Todd Howard walks up onto the stage with Pete Hines. Everyone at E3 starts going crazy and cheering. Todd Howard waits for the cheers to die down before speaking, "We at Bethesda know what the fans want, we have heard you all loud and clear. We are pleased to announce new entries to both the Elder Scrolls and Fallout Franchises. When you folks get home you'll find an all new Skyrim DLC waiting for you on both the Playstation Network and Xbox Marketplace, the glorious and illustrious Horse Armor has returned!-"
Silence sweeps the entire E3 conference room, jaws hang agape. The stunned silence is misread as being something positive by the Bethesda reps and Todd Howard continues to speak, "In addition to the Horse Armor DLC, we are pleased to announce that we have remastered Fallout 3 for both the Xbox One and Playstation 4, you can now relive the classic adventure in HD coming October 2016. All of the DLC will be sold separately as it is still being developed. Thank you and have a wonderful E3 everybody." The crowd begins to boo and jeer as they pull out lighters and set the E3 building ablaze. A few people start hanging from lights on the ceiling as they howl in anger. Bethesda security forces (dressed like Enclave Troops) swoop in and evacuate Todd Howard and Pete Hines on a Vertibird in the nick of time as the building bursts into flames.

However, there is the Lonesome Road which kind of muddies up the background.
To be fair, Lonesome Road only confirms that the Courier made a Delivery to the Divide. If I recall, all the stuff about the Divide being the Courier's home and stuff liek that can be denied.
Personally, I'm really hoping for another character like the Courier. I like my Blank Slates.

That E3 will be for ESO, DOOM, Dishonored 2 and teasing FO4 in fourth quarter 2016.

Well three Dog (Erik Todd Dellums) recently made another Tweet on 21 Mar 2015, semi-confirming FO Next Game:

Maybe he'll just be reprising the ThreeDog role for the E3 event. I could see them working a character in to make whatever their doing showy. So it might not have anything to do with the future game. Hopefully it will mean good news for Fallout 4.
Yeah, hopefully it is only for an event, because I've killed ThreeDog on plenty of my playthroughs. I would really hate for my choices to be invalidated (wouldn't be a deal breaker, just a disappointment).

Wouldn't be the first time your choices in the Fallout series were invalidated.

To all my #Fallout3 and #ThreeDog fans: There may be more of the Dog coming! Fingers crossed!" (Jan 2013) and then subsequently tweeted: "How was that for a tease! I was given permission to release that tease, so fingers crossed." (Jan 2013)...then subsequently had to delete his posts. (Either he got loose lips and then smacked down, or it was entirely an orchestrated marketing ploy).
Either way, it sounds more to me like he's reprising his role in the next game, as opposed to him pre-announcing his attendance at an E3 event two years in advance.
I agree its probably a crappy thing to do to players who ended him in the DC ruins, and if that is in fact the case, Bethesda probably ought to work on that whole "essential" NPC thing.
EDIT: OR, recordings of him could play in a more distant future.

Yeah, it's funny at first, because you have the janitor get on the air to say that "ThreeDog's dead. Um... here's some music." but there's really nothing to it beyond that. It gets kind of lonely without the newscasts really.

Don't know why everybody likes ThreeDog. I thought he was an jugdmental jerk. He insults you if you kill those damned gouls that work with Roy Phillips, but if you help him wich results in him slaughtering everyone in Tempenny tower, all dog does is give an backhanded comment, like he didn't really care. I much prefer Mr. New Vegas instead.

Technically speaking, aren't all Fallout games future games?
I'm just asking questions!

Yeah, I preferred listening to President Eden (or much rather preferred the music) than Three Dog. Guy grated on my nerves. Maybe with a dozen or so more talk tracks, MAYBE. But with the same six or seven repeated, with only slight updates based on random quests, it got old QUICK. You heard him go on repeat about twenty times in a row on most play throughs.

Three Dog and Mr. New Vegas both get repetitive at times. Personally I prefer Three Dog because he actually has a point of view that he expresses, whereas Mr. New Vegas will report stories but not really comment on them.

Bringing Three Dog back would be fine as long as there is an opposing viewpoint on another station. The "President" guy didn't talk about much of anything as I recall. Well he had an affinity for baseball which was cool but not all that relevant.

President Eden talked quite a bit, but it felt like mostly just generic American politican speak.
It fit given the character of Eden, but I found Three Dog to be much better to listen to.
Although all of the FO3/NV radio hosts get repetitive after a few hours of wandering around.
