What will this "Epic" new DLC be about?

So Bioware has been teasing this new DLC to be their biggest to date. Eight of their writers, several of their composers and a majority of the main cast are all attached to it at the moment. Whatever it is, it is supposed to be huge.

http://www.ibtimes.c...-dlc-finale.htm

Now there may not be much hope that it will be a change to the ending since they tried to put their foot down months ago saying the Extended Cut would be the last thing they would do for the ending. Although, if they truly acknowledge how unpopular they have become because of that debacle, maybe they might change their minds....

Regardless, if it isn't the ending, what could possibly be enough to "make us cry" and "blow us away" like they think it will?

That's what gets me thinking as well. Bioware as said, time and time again, that they will not change the ending so assuming they are being honest, I have no idea what this dlc could possibly be about. 'Tears potential'? Who knows?

I doubt its going to be epic. They had ALL the writers making ME3 after all... Shoving everyone at a DLC does not = instant gold.

The ending had emotionally manipulative music and made me cry and cringe at the same time. Whether or not the DLC is good depends. If its just going to be lackluster with an ending that uses emotionally manipulative music then meh.  Dont buy into the PR of Bioware.

If its good, its good.  If its bad, its bad.  But if its anything like leviathan or omega then Im personally going to be unimpressed.

Yeah I don't have a lot of stock in their PR either after all that has happened. I'm just curious more than anything.

Concerning the abovementioned article, I don't really understand the last sentence:

Presumably, BioWare seems to have reserved its best for the grand finale
of the trilogy, even as any development on Mass Effect 4 seems to have
receded quite mysteriously
.

Why are they saying it has receded? It hasn't even started yet and is presumably in "pre-production".

Just a minute. 'BioWare' has not been teasing a damn thing. All they've done is quietly announced who is working on it, and even that was only in response to fan questions. The composer is not a BioWare employee. BioWare has not been shouting from the rooftops that 'the next DLC will be epic' or anything like that.

All of the 'hype' that the next DLC will be big is from third-party publications.

So claiming that this is "BioWare PR" is ridiculous.

hopefully its just semantics, they could still continue the game without changing the current ending.

Because they are focusing on this DLC:

"It's all hands on deck for this one. Pretty much every ME3 DLC writer here in Edmonton is involved. (which would include both Patrick Weekes AND John Dombrow)"

I dont think it'll be a new ending. (Hudson's ego would not allow that to happen).

Saying it is Bioware is just a general inclusion. Sam Hulick works for Bioware with this DLC so technically he falls in that umbrella. And the number of writers that the studio listed is larger than most of their other DLC writings staffs so comparatively it is more epic.

It won't be a new ending, they have said that countless times. However, they have never said what their definition of a new ending is. I don't consider a post-earth dlc that doesn't remove the crucible choices as a new ending, but some people might.

I don't think there is any excitement in playing something that takes place before earth, unless you like the action more than the story.

But it's not even the same Bioware studio making ME4. It's the studio that handled ME3 multiplayer.

Every dlc has been "the biggest one yet" Statement has lost all meaning

If it's not ending related I'm going to have a real hard time caring

That is not a valid conclusion. There are other reasons why more writers could have been brought in. BioWare is not the one advertising this as 'epic.'

You are.

My money's on there being a fetch quest where we recover Udnia's shoes, or possibly his pants...maybe both!

Correct. ME4 will be made in Montreal, at least according to the studio's director: http://blog.bioware....oware-montreal/

And as he says, it is "probably going to be quite a while before you hear from us again", as they're still recruiting for their team and setting the course on where to go, before taking the first steps in development.

So, I don't know what leads the author to the assumption that ME4's development has "receded".

At the sight of people modding their "perfect and emotional ending" that had scaped from Asimov's Edge of Foundation, perhaps they will react at last.

All the polls made say that MEHEM is better ending than the original ones, and is still on Beta 0.2.

As I do with the rEApers, i do not trust any previous bioware statement.
