If it really is the end I want to see the devs love and passion for ME in this DLC.

Yes, I was calling trolling out when I saw it.

Again... derailing a thread with a discussion cannot ad-hoc be considered trolling because trolling is not only intended to derail a thread, but mostly to provoke. And you simply can't know whether his intention was to derail the thread, to provoke or anything else. Aside from that, trolls usually don't even try to debate and don't react to the points other people are making. Heretic_Hanar clearly did.

Not really, it's incredibly easy for people to derail threads by spuring people into pointless debates and provoke a reaction and cause aggravation, with the sole intention of doing that. Thinking trolling is just silly one-liners will mean you'll fall into loads of traps. He expressing a negative opinion of ME3 on the official forums simply because he wants people to react negatively to it, and you're pointlessly arguing with him when the simple counter to his entire argument is "I disagree".

Before you respond, what are you trying to achieve in this argument with me and him?

I agree. Talking people into pointless debates with the sole purpose of provoking them pretty much is trolling. But was that his intention? To provoke or cause aggravation? You may see it as such, others don't. All you can do at this point is second-guess what his intentions are, but you don't know them.
Actually, no. He made clear that he's debating about ME3 because he used to be a fan of the series and still likes to discuss about it, but doesn't want to cause anger. The fact that he doesn't like ME3 and expresses his opinion about it doesn't make him a troll. It may provoke hardcore fans and cause aggravation on their side, but that doesn't mean it was his intent, to begin with. I'm a ME3 fan, myself, and debating with him didn't provoke me at all - it was very insightful, actually, although we didn't agree. So, pointlessly arguing with someone else equals trolling for you?

My intention is to explain why I don't deem him a troll, despite him disliking ME3. You don't have to agree with me, but I get the impression that some people here think everyone's a troll who doesn't like ME3. It's ridiculous, really.
Oh, and that question goes right back at you. This very discussion serves no particular purpose either.

How do they want to "blow us away" and make us "shed tears"? I didnt care for the other DLCs, cause they didnt change anything at the End. The Ending is the most important thing in this trilogy, the climax of the story, where everything over the course of 3 games should play out good or bad. Some unlogical Dialogue and a few impersonal slides is not enough for me....

Dont forget that the reapers just rolled over and died without a grand fight to the last, and the copy and paste ending of another game altogether.

It will be something over-hyped, overpriced and will turn out to mediocre at best. And funnily enough people will buy it.

It would be my guess that at the time he was referring to all the DLC they had planned like Leviathan etc.

That would be impossible or really pointless, unless they lied.

If you get to fight Harbinger before priority earth its pointless, who knocks shepard down on the run to the beam, what purpose would it have to the ending anyway?

If i fight him during priority earth, sounds like a waste of time and it wouldnt blow me away. Exactly how would my shepard defeat him on foot? If i succed random reaper #2 comes to knock me down at the beam run?

If they make me fight Harbinger after the ending, (IT theory lol), they lied about no new ending again?

They wrote that thing into a wall, because there is nothing open in the ending to add anything to it, minus new endings, which would make them lairs. Theres really no way this DLC will blow us away and make us shed tears. Mabye laughter tears or angry tears at wasted cash, but thats about it.

People need to stop buying into freaking PR. No company will ever come straight out and say, well what we are working on now is mediocre, but its all we can do now until the next big game since the story is sealed. Instead every single DLC gets the same exact attribute from any company in the history of the world.

-Biggest DLC ever.
-Most work we ever put.
-We never did "this before".
-No one ever tried "that".
-Its the best we ever did.
-Its the longest DLC we ever made.
-All of the above every single time.

Yup. Unless it is ending related I doubt most of us would be move to tears. We already know atrocities commited by cerberus and reapers. What could be worse than that? Oh wait dont answer that.

I really wanna hope that this is it. That Bioware heard our complaints and they will come back to the light. But of course I felt that way with Omega and was sadly not surprised. The cynical part of me wonder how they will lie to us to get us to buy this DLC

"Omega is very Strong."

While the other half really wants to have hope.

Youll be blown away, it will make you shed tears. PR translation: All of the above. Anyone related to the project will say good things, because they are related to the project. You new to marketing or something? Even WarZ was the second coming of jesus? I never said you cant hope for the DLC to be good, but dont take their words for it, it doesent work like that. Youll know once you play/see it. No ammount of tweeter makes it good. No one ever comes out saying that their product is not amazing, until its already released and bought.

Yeah but honestly Bioware has taken the hype machine to another level since ME3 came out.  Most developers show you trailers and talk about features and how the game works.  Sure they also talk about how great it's going to be but the level of puffery coming from Bioware these days is maddening.

Search on YouTube for making of Halo 4 and making of Mass Effect 2 and you can see the differences.

Being in sales you're not suppose to tell someone in general terms how awesome something is.  Rather you need to listen to the customer and then respond with how your product or service satisfies that persons needs.  Providing specifics about how something works is much more preferable to saying "Oh man the combat is incredible."

This is just such a complete load of garbage. Can you tell the difference between a 20 page thread made by fans and only fans and official announcements by BioWare? Because it sure doesn't look like it.

Look at this. A composer who who is contracted by BioWare (not a BioWare employee) posts a single, small tweet saying he's working on an emotional piece.

And now we've got people saying
"BIOWARE IS ANNOUNCING THAT THE NEXT DLC WILL MAKE YOU SHED TEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THOSE SELFISH LAZY GREEDY CORPORATE PRICKS!!!!!!!!!! ALL THEY DO IS ADVERTISE AND HYPE THEMSELVES!!!!!!!! "

Utterly ridiculous.

Have BioWare themselves stated anything at all about this DLC, outside of Chris saying "We'll talk about it when we're ready"?

Hulick talking about his own music doesn't really count. That's not PR spin; that's just a guy talking---and, sure, a little deserved boasting---about his work, and him having the clearance to do so.

No, they haven't. Everything has been rather shrouded in mystery so far and I can live with that until they think the DLC ready. Considering the trouble they got themselves into when they announced and talked about something in the past, I take this as a good sign and hope they've learned to manage their PR a bit better.
On the other hand, I do think that the people who write about the work in progress, be it music or whatever, are well aware of the fact that fans are reading what they release on twitter. There might not have been an official BioWare statement or announcement yet, but I get the feeling those tweets are fed to the people who read them rather consciously. They do know how many fans are following and reading, after all.
... But maybe it's just me.

Indeed, the fact that you refuse to acknowledge it also doesn't make it so. I was trying to warn you of this but I'm clearly not getting through to you so I'll stop. Bickering among each other because of a troll really doesn't solve anything. If you want to be trolled, by all means, you don't need my approval.

Agreed. It's just a difference in standpoints and experiences with him, and we're running around in circles since no one's going to back off from their respective standpoint. I wasn't aware that you were trying to warn me of anything, though - it felt more like unsolicitedly butting into a conversation, but that's the internet for you. Misunderstandings are bound to occur. So, thanks for the warnings, but Heretic_Hanar and I are just fine. ^_^

whatever it is, it better not involve running around the Citadel again, hunting for clues like Leviathan did. that thing bores the fluck outta me. they have a chance to correct a few crucial mistakes in this one, they better not screw it up since it's the last DLC of the entire trilogy.

more Earth!!! more outdoors fighting!!!

Pft... Randomly thinking out loud here.

Some kind of missions into batarian space to sabotage something or rescue a few survivors and seeing what will happen to the rest of the galaxy if the reapers aren't stopped.
