The romance with Annah was ridiculously well done too, IMO.

One of my favorite parts of the game quite honestly. And anything else involving Annah. (Including her St. Patrick's Day outfit.)

That David Gaider thing... some people are just jerks.  I'll be happy to see Torment not follow the seeming current BioWare model (or, at least, to be fair, my perception of what that model is) but that's not intended as a dig at BioWare.  I just prefer many game aspects that BioWare isn't offering currently, and some of those Torment is.

Same here. I look forward to Torment doing something different from us-- there's room for more than one type of RPG in the market, after all, and I know I'll play this one with gusto when it comes out. :)

It's too bad, too, because I think Torment could only be improved by your writing a companion and area for it.  You are like the only great game writer I can think of (great and with name recognition, again no digs at other BioWare writers) who isn't on the game.  Maybe Ken Levine, but his style is not in the cRPG dimension, Freedom Force notwithstanding.

Again, Torment isn't hitting the checklist of my "desired" cRPG elements very well... but I can enjoy different kinds of games, as well. :wizard:

That's kind of you to say. Much as I would relish the opportunity to work on such an exciting project-- my memories of my days on games like BG2 are fond ones indeed-- I certainly wouldn't want the inXile team opened up to criticism based on assumptions regarding what some fans evidently think I represent. Not that such a thing was even on the table, or that they'd even need someone like me. I'm certain writers like Colin McComb are more than up to the task of making something magnificent.

You'll just have to write under an alias: Gavid Daider would certainly go unnoticed!

Nah, Alistair Hawke.  They'd never get that one. :bandit:

Well, crap. I was holding out on supporting a lot of games that I knew would make their targets on Kickstarter, just so I could buy them when they are complete and the developers could actually show some profit.

But now they have a $45 Wasteland 2 AND Planescape Torment option?

My stinginess is outweighing my desire to help the devs show a strong bottom line.

Yes.  Give in to your altruism.  Give in to your desire to see these games made.  Feel the fun you will have playing them, the sense of pride at having helped them come to be.

Come over to the light side! :innocent:

http://www.numenera....amber-monolith/

In addition to new Torment, another pile of people is busy writing a table-top RPG based on Numenera. Encouraging amount of world building taking place eh. As a fan of Stephen King's Dark Tower the setting most def has all my juices flowing.

...Hating the very little they show of the art style of the table top game  though. Like bad Star Wars movie posters. Pretty sure that isn't a problem Torment/cRPG side of things  shares so hay.

Holy crap, Patrick Rothfuss is a stretch goal? Really hope that happens because the Kingkiller Chronicles are freaking fantastic.

Planescape: Torment is one of my favorite games of all time. It's so awesome they're working on another one with a similar style. And the concept sounds really interesting. I was a bit worried part way through the Kickstarter video that there wasn't much defined yet in terms of story, but it sounds pretty awesome so far. And the concept art is amazing.

Happily backed this game.

mr gaider sorry but that's just not true. it was impolite and already there is a poll to not have u included in torments development https://tormefnt.use...-out-of-torment-

Ha! I see I've become synonymous with BioWare, have I? Clearly I am responsible for everything BioWare decides to do. :)

Rather telling, to be honest. I do enjoy the "excessive pandering to minorities" comment-- because giving content to anyone that isn't part of the majority is clearly bad and unworthy. Pandering to the interests of a small group of hardcore elitist homophobes, however? SO much better.

At any rate, I wasn't aware that Numenara was intending to include romances of any kind or was considering having a more linear story. News to me. As for the idea of me joining the project... much as I'd enjoy such a challenge, I had no idea that was on the table to the point they needed a poll to declare me unworthy.

But whatever. I didn't think the interview was impolite-- one can respectfully say they believe our games aren't interactive enough and I don't think anyone here is going to be offended by that. We can respectfully disagree, after all. I don't know why fans feel the burning need to imagine developers are at each other's throats. Like I said earlier, I look forward to seeing what the Numenara team comes up with. Should be very different and cool, and I imagine the developers don't need the kind of "guidance" that poll is offering to make it amazing.
