Shotgun, thank you, that's what I meant, not "rifle".

On character, like I said, Quarian maybe.  Or Destroyer, but that's not female.  OTherwise....female human soldier is the best bet.

Beat the original NES game fast enough (at least I'm sure it's that version), and you see samus in a swimsuit under her armor. She didn't go from anywhere to anywhere, really.

She was pretty much the original powerful female protagonist, and it came as a surprise to a lot of people way back then.

She still wears her bulky armor, and fights in her zero suit these days.

On Topic, I don't see any woman fitting the Samus Aran combat method off the top of my head. Would be nice if we got a character in the next DLC for it.

Yes it was the NES super metriod, and if I remember you had to do not only in a certain time but also with 100% of all upgrades found that where not critical to advance IE find all health and missile containers and on hard. She is still in my top five all time game characters.

Sexy fan art doesn't mean the character characters.  Not only has that been around since the character first debuted, but it has no bearing on the actual character:  Its just sexualized fan art of her without her suit on (Smash Bros notwithstanding).

I know next to nothing about the game, so I don't know to what extent she appears in her "blue bodypaint" outfit. I guess... cutscenes and the like? No?

But I get that thing about the fanart. Which reminds me -

 I think the only times shes been in that blue suit were...the beginning of like...Fusion and Other M, and as her "alt" character in Smash Bros Brawl.  But its mostly only because of Brawl that anyone even knows about that suit.

 Well, there's always Volus Engineer - a little ball that rolls around dropping bombs. 

I would say you should probably use the GPS as your weapon, it's probably most similar to a space blaster.  EDIT: Apparently, I'm not the first one to think of this 

Maybe a Human Female Inifiltrator with a GPS?  You have your blaster (GPS), your Ice Beam (Cryo Blast), your Bombs (Sticky Grenades), your Missiles (um... Missiles), and you can sort of roll too.  Spec out of Tactical Cloak if you want ultimate realism at the cost of in-game performance.
