I think it was brojo who mentioned it, many moons ago. It was during a discussion about the CSR's limited range. Everyone freaked out after he said it, complaining about how the game hates snipers with the original shield gate, and lessened damage beyond power targeting range.

Uhm... To be honest, I've never noticed anything like that while using a sniper rifle.
Now, if I'm not wrong scoping in lets you target distant enemies with powers too (never really tried I guess, but it seems to underline them as if you could...), so maybe with scoped in SRs there's no penalty.
Either that, or I always use a Javelin to snipe ![]()

It was never said how much of a penalty there was, and overkill is overkill. You can also use powers on distant enemies without scoping in, as long as they are in the center of the screen. Scoping in just means you have more of them in the center of the screen.

Duration on rank 6 of shield boost is better than protection.
Cyro blast with rank 4 duration is slightly better in most cases for THS and even the Human infil kits. The radius increase is so little but at least with duration teammates as well as yourself will benefit from duration so it stays debuffed longer enough for it to syngernize with other debuffing powers such as warp, proxy mine. And there's not a lot of cases where radius would be better.

Yep. It was mentioned by a Dev a long time ago. It is pretty easy to test too.
Its too late at night for me to test it right now, but if anyone else want to test it a 66606 kit with a level X executioner pistol and no weapon damage boosts other than a Pistol Amp V gear will do 1128 damage, just enough to body-shot a silver cerberus Assault Trooper, who has 1125 health.

Yeah, I hope so too, I'm currently planning on turning my two HEng's into mantis and executioner platforms, using overload to bypass shieldgate.
Both of the builds I've got planned only just barely 1HK a gold Geth Hunter on paper, if guns lose damage over distance it'll really hurt those builds.
If nobody does it in the next few days, I might just test it myself. I won't be able to record video evidence though.
