While going through the Circle tower, cleaning out abominations, I've always wondered why it appears as if a whale exploded and its blubber is all over the walls, floors, ceilings, etc.  Does anyone know why it looks that way?  The only comparison is the Deep Roads, but I always thought that had something to do with the darkspawn and broodmothers.  The Circle has no darkspawn, only abominations.  Is it something relating to the Veil being torn?

All I know is that Morrigan will remark that the corruption Abominations cause is similar to that of Darkspawn's.

But as to just why it happens? I don't know and I'm not sure I want to know.

Maybe this really does indicate that darkspawn have some connection to the Fade? Makes sense, since the Taint is innately magical.
