I'm curious to see what a typical public match looks like lately, so post a pic of what a typical end match screen is. I know you can't tell much by score, but I look at medals which isn't really any better. Edited out all the GTs (Even mine). Chose the end match screen because it has the most info.

As long as someone gets either the bronze+ Assist or bronze+ Kill medal, they're okay by me. Which every one of us did. Also sorry for the crappy phone pic.

This was actually a pretty fun match. We got center hack wave six and someone managed to lock us in the Core. I got instakilled by a Phantom during I think wave eight or nine in the very beginning, That was lame. No one got angry over kill stealing or anything like that.
But lately public Gold matches tend to take 25 to 30 minutes. It's a very long time to me, but oh well. Take what you can get.

So for those who play public matches frequently too, what's a typical game looking like for you now?

Note: Hopefully I'm able to link the pic into the post. If not, I'll try again. For some reason it's a little more difficult from my phone.

That's not a typical PUG match by any definition - neither the time, nor the scores - if that's what your everage game looks like, I feel sorry for your horrible luck.

Recently mostly all my matches everyone gets around 100,000 points, on Gold.

Lord Sirian, how is 250k possible in a gold pug. I have gotten to 190k with a claymore GI a couple of times. I guess you need exceptionally bad players in the team.

Nope. The players in that game weren't bad at all (Game time was 17:40). And I've scored 230 - 260k in games with Stentron (who is easily one of the best players in the game). You just have to be an efficient killer.

It was an U/U match. I was surprised by it too.

Here's one I just got out of. There was an Infidrell, Krodept, Paladin, and Vorcha Hunter.

Why is it possible that somebody can score 200k in a Gold PUG and the match takes 30mins? My only 30+ matches are with much less score, tbh. If i get 200k in a PUG, it's always less than 20mins. Not sure if i'm the one doing it wrong or you guys.

99% of all successful games I play (PS3) will end with one person over 100k, everyone else around 60-80k, taking 25 minutes give or take.

Usually top-score has to solo more than one round

There was a thread around christmas about average times, and the broad consenus was console games took more time than PC, and PUGs were 5 minutes more than friends.

IMO on the PS3 PUG 35min games are slow, but not uncommon, 22-25 mins with friends is a good time, 25-30 mins is about average for PUGs.
I only score over 200,000 with friends, very rarely in PUG gold games.

Here's typical poor-time game with PUG PS3ers, but fairly often one person scores well, one scores bad, two score decent.  Lately below is becoming more common...

No because the VS is with Shepard.

Might be during the Geth dreadnaught?

Point. Definitely mid-to-late game though.

Actually had a really good PuG today playing UUG. I was off host using my Batarian Soldier and the scores were:
Me: 141K
PuG 1: 132K
Host: 109K
PuG 2: 104K

The time was 23:44 (good for a PuG) and it was Hydra Geth Gold.

Agreed that a typical Gold PUG on PS3 is between 25-30 minutes, with one scorer over 100,000 and usually two around 80,000-90,000. And that's fine by me. I LIKE finding PUGs these days that score 60,000 or more. At least try, you know?Because lately there's been a lot more of this:

Horrendous time, I know. But bear in mind I haven't successfully solo'd a Gold game yet, so not having even one person really be able to help me slowed things down a LOT. Bottom guy was leeching - literally, spinning circles in the LZ like he had rubberbands on the joysticks and only "came to life" in the last two waves, third place guy was a replacement for the Demolisher that bailed on Wave 3 (replacement did not come in until Wave 9), and second place was the Volus... the only teammate I had for basically the whole match, but he died a LOT so this was basically a Gold solo with training wheels for me every single wave.

Slightly off topic, but why are you guys blocking out the other player's names? What's the big deal in revealing them?

To answer your question: because it's against forum rules to "name and shame", so if you're putting up a screenshot that's "unflattering" of other players, you block their names out to make them anonymous. I consider it polite, but it can also save you from a temp ban.

Gold for levelling - silver for completing challenges ... that actually kinda makes sense to me but you have to be good enough to run gold as a low level.

Just a random footnote - I've been in a scarce few missions where there is one player that is obviously better and tends to get all the kills.. Just due to having the right kit, and the right skillset and strategies.
Now, I don't begrudge them their fun, but.. Please don't brag about "having to carry the game". It is not carrying, you just zip off and hog all the action for yourself. Mad props for being able to do it, sure, but don't assume that the rest are noobs or suckers. Maybe you just don't even let any enemies get even close to the other players, and they simply can't score without resorting to leroying all over the place - a thing that their specs and builds and habits might not work for.

So, yeah. If I see a scoring list with 3 players at, say, 50k score, and one with more than 3 times as much, and that one player does not have 15 revive medals, then I won't think "Oh that match had three bad leeches", I'll think "Oh that match had one gloryhogging jerk".

And that's coming from someone who can get to topscoring place with the right kit (in before the "lol lrn 2 play nub").

Usually I outscore the rest of my team combined, which is why I don't often PUG.

Lord_Sirian wrote...

Also, it's a good thing they gave the Drell Vanguard Tactical Cloak, Hunter Mode and Proximity Mine. Because otherwise I never would've been able to score so high in such a short time. Because as we all know, those 3 powers together are absurdly overpowered, take no skill to use and combine to form an instant I-win class that makes all other classes obsolete.

Oh wait. <_<

Even a GI can't compete with a grenade spamming class on glacier. Especially Drellguard vs Reapers.

But as always, good job totally ignoring what everyone is saying about the GI. :P

Pictures need a Volus for scale (lets see if anyone gets it).

But seriously, most time I experienced such numbers it was due to a ****ty host connection or due to a fully equipped overpowered class wreaking havoc in gold. If there are similar levels of equipment usage and a good connection there are at least 3 players within the same range and most of the time the forth one is a Newbie trying out gold for the first time.
So I simply can't agree to OP post.

This is true. For me a true carry in a Gold+ game is indicated by the time. If you finished in less than 24 mins, then your team wasn't dying much, and hence not leaving you to solo waves, and hence all that happened was you were the best spawn-nuker. Cool story and all bosh'tet, but not carrying.

35-min Gold game, where you outscored the other three players combined? Yeah, your back must be sore...Posted Image

I wouldn't call the Human Engineer an overpowered class. As I said it's just people burning through their gels in the early waves and bleeding out in the latter ones. This is happening 2/3 matches.

I understand what you're saying, carrying vs scoring high, and it is less fun if you're forth and running from A to B and only finding corpses - but the OP asked for "typical PUG shots".
If one person knows the spawn mechanics, and has the right kit -> map -> weapons -> consumables, and the others dont, that's still relevant to how some PUGs are not knowledagable or dont have appropriate kits.
One has to query, should they be playing at that difficulty? :?

Personally i love when there's a team of great players:  things go smoothly, less concentrating, more drinking, more fun!
